We had a cottage/fale with two rooms and a bathroom. Plenty of room for two adults and a child. It was basic but clean and comfortable and matches what you pay for it. We only stayed a night and it was absolutely fine for that. It had a little and clean beach and blow holes nearby. Great for kids to explore. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged transport pick up and drop off. It's about a 15-20 min trip. There isn't much around the area. Town is another 15-20 mins. They do have a kitchen serving food which helps.

Best month to visit Tonga. Weather is cooler but water is still warm...so you can still go for a relaxing swim at the private Keleti beach. Its whale watching time from July to October...what better place to sit and eat a meal and watch the whales swim by. Then you have your block parties...numerous night clubs..and the street parade for Miss Tonga event.
Keleti Resort is only about 10minutes by vehicle out of town. The cost of the rooms plus hiring a car = the same cost if you had accomodation in town...so what a plus. Then after you finish partyung hard at the niteclubs..you can return to Keleti for a peacefull sleep. If you have trouble walking back to vale...dont worry the security is there ready to help you back😊😊😊.
On your sundays you can attend church or take a visit to one of the outer islands for the day.
The vales itself are quite comfortable...with a kettle and fridge.
If you do come to Tonga..give Keleti a try...the views are breath taking and the service by the Tongans is great.

I stayed here twice just for 2 nights at a time. Used it as a transit before flying out to the smaller islands. The location is quite far out from any action, and the road to reach it is a bit rough. There isnt much to do there but there is a little sandy beach to relax on surrounded by big rocks and blow holes. What's cool is when the waves hit the blow holes the water shoots up through the holes like a gyser! Quite spectacular really. But the current under the waves is very strong so I was cautious and didn't go swimming out deep. The resort was quite run down when I was there. The rooms are very basic. Unfortunately I was sharing my room with a very large rat, which is not that uncommon on a tropical island, but I couldn't find any staff during the night that I spotted it to help me kill it so I had to wait till there were available staff in the morning! Restaurant was nice, only had breakfast there but meals were large and really good! Overall very basic accomodation, ok for a night or two....but worth seeing it just for the blow holes! :)

Plenty of potential here- lovely beach and impressive blowholes (at the right state of the tide) helpful staff ( many thanks to the great guys who get coconuts down when you want them) and the lovely kitchen staff who asked us what we wanted for dinner on new year's eve and then went to the market to get it.
But they lack management support and so the place is falling down while the owners are overseas in NZ.
I don't think you want car access to the fales, which would spoil the gardens, but it is realistic to expect the shower, bedside light and fan to work don't you think.

We only visited for lunch one day. The food was good enough, but the accommodation looked terrible. There was no car access to the fales, just a long footpath the people in the farthest hut would have to walk several hundred meters in the weather to reach their room. They also looked very run down.
