“Peaceful, breathtaking views”
Reviewed 31 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I visited Piccola Casa in August, during a very hot period. Even during this time, though, the shade around the property made it a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors and take in the breathtaking view. There were many delicious restaurants and artistic shops in several towns within a 20-45 minute radius. On days that I just wanted to take a break and be lazy, I cooked in the well-stocked kitchen and sat on the side porch that looked over the terraced olive grove. Liz and Greg were helpful and hospitable, which enabled me to explore the surrounding area with a sense what to seek out on my windy drives through the countryside. Mostly, though, I just liked the opportunity to get lost in a new place that had delicious gelato or pastries at nearly every turn!

Liked best: The view from the side porch was better than a storybook image!
Liked least: My visit was too short--I recommend at least a week or two.

“Bliss in rural Sicily.”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Casa Piccola is a perfect retreat from hectic work/city life,a small simply furnished but well equipped house set amidst walnut and olive groves Its only a short drive or a very nice walk to the village of St Giacamo where the essentials, a good {Pizzeria and a friendly bar are to be found
Liz and Greg are fantastic at recommending excellent restaurants, beautiful nearby towns/villages and archaeological areas of interest.
Our stay in Casa Piccola was like resetting your clock,to a place where time passed more slowly, meals lasted considerably longer and the simple things in life took precedence.Bliss

“Cosy house in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed 14 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The house is cosy, comfortable and spacious. It is also very well equipped as it has everything you need and there is a supermarket close by. The terrace is wonderful to enjoy a meal on a sunny day and the lemon tree came in handy to give G & T's a finishing touch. The house is ideally located to discover the eastern part of Sicily. I had a lovely stay.

“Rural Sicilian Gem!”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Piccola Casa is a rural Sicilian gem that invites you to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the farmland surrounding it, and the sunrise on the hillside behind the property provides a stunning welcome to each day!
The cottage is very well appointed, and the welcome pack of food items provided by the owners is a nice touch, one that was certainly welcomed by us due to our rather late arrival.
We look for 'Quiet' locations that are well positioned to visit the 'Must see' sights, enjoy immersing ourselves into a 'Local' community for a short while, and Picola Casa certainly fit the bill.
We also travel with bicycles for exercise and discovery, and the surrounding roads provided many interesting options.

“Stunning views, private and wonderful solitude in a picturesque Sicilian atmosphere”
Reviewed 13 February 2015 for a stay in September 2014

I spent three months at Piccola Casa while exploring southeastern Sicily. The house is set in beautiful terraces, covered with olive, almond, fruit and carob trees. You feel like you are on the set of an old Sicilian movie. The views off the patio are stunning and the sunsets are incredible. Enjoy lazy afternoon lunches with the local wines that are available everywhere. Piccola Casa is wonderfully peaceful and quiet yet has easy access to shops, groceries, coffee bars, banks, bread shops, pastry shops, cheese shops and San Giacomo's very own, local castle. All just minutes away. The house itself has a wonderful bedroom loft with plenty of room and the sitting room below has two settee's that double as beds for two more guests. The kitchen is fully furnished with modern stove and fridge and a nice and very clean bathroom with a shower much larger than most Italian showers. A great internet connection also! The house is in a super area that makes it so easy to explore any part of Sicily. I felt completely safe and secure on my own.... I loved it!
