Nullarbor Roadhouse
Reviewed 21 January 2017

Firstly the welcome you receive here is second to none. The caravan park is at the back/side of the roadhouse. Basic with power. You can top up your caravan water tanks from their water supply. It cost a $1 for a tank full. The showers cost $1 for five minutes. The amenities are clean and well maintained. We enjoyed an evening in the bar watching the tennis on the big screen. The locals are lovely and the food yummy. Yes you do pay over the odds but remember you are in the middle of the nowhere. Sleep quality excellent, in fact we overslept. We would stay here again for sure.

The original roundhouse on the side was really interesting, gave you a glimpse of what it was like in the old time. You guys have come a long way., and did a great job. Got a bit paranormal(?) experience though. Something or someone was screaming next my left ear really hard with a super high pitched tone. I was half sleep and tired, so just fished out a pair of ear pugs, and slept all the way through :p

Thanks for much for your review! Great to hear you had a nice time and took a trip down memory lane at the Old Garage! So interesting about your paranormal experience! We haven't had any reports of this type of thing before, hope it wasn't too frightening! We are very glad you still managed to get a good night's rest! Safe travels!

We stayed in a queen room and paid extra for a pet bond which meant she could stay with us in the room. $159 a night plus extra $20 for our dog. Room was clean and so was all the linen and the ensuite bathroom.

Box style aircon works, but its in the wardrobe so its not that effective.

This roahouse / motel is in the middle of nowhere so there's no other choice other than to keep driving through the night. This is not a very safe option as the kangaroos are out at night and the large road trains dont slow down for anyone so it can get scary driving towards all those headlights!

The restaurant was clean but stuffy with aircon turned off. Food was very aussie but be warned, the portions are so large its wasteful (well it was for us, we are not big eaters).

I ordered an entre' of wedges and when it came out it could have easily fed two very hungry truck drivers. I ate as much as I could, but leaving behind 2+ kilos of fried potato was not my idea of good value.

Hubby had the burger with another 1/2 kilo of chips on the side. He tried to eat it all but went into a food coma. If you like huge meals you will be super happy. The entre of wedges was $18, burger was $27.00. The rest of the mains averaged about $30.00

Fuel was $1.79 litre.

Thanks so much for your valuable feedback! We are so pleased to hear that you and your pet enjoyed a pleasant stay with us. You are right, the local wildlife tend to become more active around the highway from dusk on-wards, we do recommend exercising caution while driving at that time! We really appreciate your feedback in relation to your portion sizes, we work very hard on our meals, in fact we are in the process of designing a new menu! We will be sure to take your comments into consideration during the process. Have a safe journey!

Travelling from Perth to N.S.W. The roadhouse is one of the few options around that area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There were a few large ants over the room and I had to kill a couple of my bed after they were crawling on me. The meals were huge and were not finished. Not bad over all.

Thank you for your review! It's great to hear you enjoyed a clean and comfortable stay with us. In relation to the ants, we are sorry to hear you found some in your room, we suspect they may have retreated from the recent wet weather. We have passed on your feedback to our housecleaning team to ensure this does not occur again. We greatly appreciate feedback like yours as it helps us to continue to improve! Safe travels, enjoy the rest of your trip to NSW!
