Outstanding easiest way to put it. As a wedding photographer I get to travel to many locations and this place is a true highlight. We felt so welcome from the beginning from the owners and had an amazing experience shooting the wedding. Beautiful property and amazing staff and owners. Highly recommend any bride and groom to look into it.

Donna Matt & their staff go out of their way to make your stay & event as enjoyable & easy as possible. The guesthouse rooms are comfortable with lots of added extras that make it very homey. They really do think of everything. There are lots of common areas where family & friends can gather, chat share a drink or two, relax & catch up. The added bonus of a kitchen/dining area, ironing room & games area makes it the perfect place for all ages no matter the occasion. We also made use of the party barn and bbq area on the Friday night a great way to kick start the festivities.
The function areas are amazing, Donna has everything you need to create a truly magical setting for your ultimate dream wedding reception. The food was first class & perfect portion sizes. Nothing was too much trouble or a bother to arrange. The bar area is also comfy and a great place to chat away from the music and dancing. Being able to bring your own alcohol makes it that much more personal again, as well as cost effective.
Sylvan Glen provides you with everything you could possibly want in a truly superb venue. The salon provides enough room for makeup, hair and even space to get dressed. Letting the ladies enjoy time together, while the men can have a round of golf or game of pool.
You park your car on Friday afternoon and no need to get in it again until Sunday afternoon.
The grounds are amazing with lots of different backdrops for those all important photos.
I would be surprised if anyone went hungry at Sylvan Glen, starting with the meal on Friday night, through to a full hot cooked breakfast both days if you want it, they also have a range of cereals, toasts, fruit and yoghurt if you want a lighter option. Delicious bread rolls for lunch on Saturday another welcome idea as you get ready or help set up things.
Donna Matt & their staff are the ultimate hosts and take pride in providing an outstanding venue and service to one and all no matter the occasion. They are friendly efficient, and always on hand to answer questions or requests with a smile, no matter how many times I called or emailed in a day!
Can not recommend them highly enough or thank them enough. Would definitely rate them and their venue more then 5 if I could.
Thanks so much

We stayed only overnight so had little chance to use the facilities provided including its restaurant but what we experienced certainly encourages us to come back for more. Our room was sparkling clean with a recently updated bathroom. The bed was comfortable with dual electric blankets to keep us warm. The free continental breakfast the next morning included some delicious muffins baked on the premises. Would thoroughly recommend.

Room tip: Rooms closest to the front can experience noise from the freight trains that roll past but it didn't worry us.

We decided on this venue for our annual friends get together for Christmas in July, and are so glad we did! From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome, and loved the very home like feel to it. The owners and staff made us feel like family as they showed us around and to our rooms. They even had some of the rooms decorated with Christmas decorations complete with a tree with lights!

The rooms were clean, comfy, and warm, and all had their own ensuite bathrooms. The house itself has lots of different rooms to relax in, including a great games room with a pool table. With a group as big as ours (24) there was plenty of space to chat and chill out.

The breakfast each morning was home cooked and was really enjoyable with lots of fresh and freshly cooked foods to choose from.

The highlight was certainly our Christmas in July dinner! We all enjoyed a 3 course dinner in the Clubhouse room which was fully decorated top to toe with Christmas decorations. The table looked stunning, and the food served was just like your nanna would have served! Totally yum!!!

While we were there we enjoyed a few of the local bush walking tracks in the national park near Bundanoon. Some of the look outs are easy to get to driving and walking, especially Echo Point which is a short and very flat walk even for kids and elderly people with an amazing view! The township of Bundanoon was a lovely place to stop for a bite with lots of places to choose from.

We can't wait to go back to Sylvan Glen next year and enjoy this experience once again. I actually think next year we will extend our stay so that we can explore the area even more!

Room tip: All of the rooms were lovely, with some that had extra beds for families or for sharing rooms.

A huge thank you to Donna, Matt, Amie, Sam and the many other staff at Sylvan Glen for a perfect weekend as our daughter married her sweetheart on May 12th. Every tiny detail had been thought of and nothing was too much trouble. Despite freezing weather and rain, nothing was going to dampen this special few days - and the team at Sylvan Glen delivered on all levels. It was magical! Having been in the bridal industry for 30 years I am very aware of the planning required, and to be doing this week in and week out with so much warmth and attention to detail is no small feat. Well done to you all :-) If you are thinking of celebrating a special event and want a weekend getaway to maximise the time with your family and friends then we couldn't think of anywhere better. Great accommodation with a fabulous log fire - (perfect for cooler days), games room, lovely ensuite bedrooms, beautiful grounds, bridal suite, coffee shop etc.
ps: We enjoyed a special bonus of the two newest members of the SG team - 9 week old border collie puppies Foxy and Badger .....adorable!

The homestead is great, you can get a good group together and stay together, as are the surrounding lands but this is where it ends.

The attitude of the owners left a little to be desired as did quite frankly the food. The breakfast was the only winner in the food stakes, apart from the home brand baked beans… We had to ask for several things to be replenished, which is never good.

I’m guessing that caterers were previously used and now they have decided to do it themselves on the ‘cheap’ to save them money whilst we are still being charged the higher amount. I know that they do weddings here and I would not inflict the food served here on my guests.

In my room there was someone’s used soap left in the shower and as for the shower head, well you would be better of having a wash in the rain outside. Just a little lime scale remover is all that is needed to fix this people. It’s a quick cheap fix.

Any activities are extra, Segway tours golf and the like. There is a pool table which I believe is free.
