“Gorgeous Cottage and garden”

Bernie and Wendy have beautifully decorated their charming cottage and have ensured that everything is provided for a really comfortable stay. Both food and drink were provided upon our arrival which was so generous and a real treat. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting both Niagara and Toronto plus there is much to do in the surrounding area. We especially loved sitting and watching the wildlife in the spacious garden and wish we had been able to stay for longer,

Dundas Charming Cottage is just what it says on the tin ....Charming , though you could use many more adjectives to describe the property and all good ones ! The property totally exceeded our expectations , its on a very quiet lane , with no through access for cars and is not overlooked , its in a beautiful residential neighbourhood where the only sound is from squirrels in the trees . It has a huge garden (yard) so there is loads of safe space for any children to play in and a patio area for the adults to watch them while cooking on the barbecue or just relaxing . If you’re lucky , like we were , a couple of deer might even come through the garden .
There is a shortcut to a small shopping plaza which you can walk to in 5 or 10 minutes where there is , amongst others , a grocery store , a drug store , pizza restaurant , Subway and a bank . The cottage itself is very comfortable and impeccably clean , on arrival there is a welcome bottle of wine ( and a cold beer for Dad ! ) , fruit basket , fresh bread , milk , cookies , tea , sugar , different blends of coffees and a lot more to help you until you get a chance to do your own grocery shopping. There’s soaps , shampoos , washing detergent , dishwasher tablets ....really , you name it and its there somewhere ! Large screen TV , DVD and WIFI is also available.
Facilities and touches like those mentioned do not come out of thin air and this is where I must mention the hosts Wendie and Bernie who do all of the above and so much more . They were great hosts , very welcoming and full of information and suggestions about where to go and what to do . Unlike some other hosts who you just see on arrival , Wendie and Bernie live locally and are always available , but not in an intrusive way , if you need any sort of help.
It’s obvious that Wendie and Bernie enjoy what they are doing , they take an interest in their guests and want their guests to leave happy having stayed in their cottage .
I could go on and on in glowing terms but suffice to say if you are looking for a rental property in or near this area you should look no further . I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Dundas Charming Cottage , you will not be disappointed by either the property or the hosts .... a really unique experience.

“Exceptional”

This is an exceptional accommodation in a truly exceptional area of natural beauty and geographical significance in Ontario.

We were personally welcomed when we arrived from the airport quite late at night. The larder was fully stocked with both essentials and a full range of all the things you would have at home - and more. The beds were very comfortable and everything was pristine; both shower and bath in a spacious bathroom, large lounge with full TV programme choice, fully equipped kitchen, huge private garden all set in a "forested" conservation area. We were given lots of time by Wendie, Bernie and Jonnah to learn about the area which was very helpful in our appreciation of the significance of the Niagra Escarpment and the history of Dundas in particular. Before we arrived we thought, as "tourists" that the main advantage was its location equidistant from both Toronto and Niagra falls. However the main interest is the escarpment area extending across Ontario and beyond and how Dundas fits into this larger picture. Dundas itself is a film location such is its unique character, and is a lively place that all visitors must take time to appreciate - rather than just using Dundas a s a "base".

All in all a surprising and lasting positive experience.
