We were there just on opening times, dying for a slice of apple pie and coffee. We read in reviews that this place had great coffee and we werent disappointed. The apple pie was truly amazing! Coffee was great and not watered down. The cafe has local produce for sale and is a very welcoming and delightful decor.
Outside the rows of apple trees were so attractive. Even though it was June/winter, there were still a number of rows of trees with apples for the picking. We happily took a bucket and went apple picking! The apples are so red, crisp and sweet!! The next day when we reached home, my husband had 3 apples and my son had 2 in a day!! Visitors definitely should not miss this orchard and cafe!!
We did a U turn and drove back to the store....glad we did. Pick your own figs and plums were delicious. We also brought some olives, cooking salts and honey. Owner was very helpful. Worth a stop along the road to Orange.
Hillside Harvest is a lovely place to visit, and they stock a great selection of local products and produce. We were excited to pick peaches and nectarines, and picked and paid for a few kilos to take home. Unfortunately, although we thought we had made good selections, every single piece of fruit developed brown rot, and one peach had fruit fly. Sooo disappointing! I managed to salvage some bits and pieces to stew, and the chooks ate some of the remainder, but this is not what we planned. Yes, we will return, but won't pick stone fruit again.
Great coffee. Friendly staff. Interesting local produce. Fruit picking was a blast with a couple of kangaroos making the experience complete !!
Overall had a blast picking delicious fruits and supporting this local business. Fruits were juicy, fresh, and good value. The farm was quite large so there was plenty of fruit trees that haven't been heavily picked by other people.
Please put up more signs so your customers can more easily find the produce they want to pick. Most of the signs were either missing, too small to read, or too faded. The only let down was missing out on some fruits that I wanted to pick but couldn't find.
on Sunday 13th December 2020, I went with my group for cherry picking , we were met by the Manager (sorry not sure of name) and he had a small section allocated for us to pick from.
The cherries were the Starbust variety, ooooh to die for, top quality and vey sweet.
We all started picking and collecting and yes tasting those yummmmmy cherries.
It is really a day to remember always , so much fun with everyone, everyone was quite picking their cherries :) and our Tour Leader Nadia going around taking photos and socializing with everyone.
