After visiting Orange Mountain Winery, us girls crossed over the road to Hillside Harvest, a small eat in or take away food with pies, quiches, sausage rolls, coffee & of course heaps of organic fruits, juices, jams etc to buy.
Somehow we where lucky enough to buy the last of the taste pi’s & saysagerills!
This is a nice place to stop but the produce left a bit to be desired and certainly wasn't cheap! Some things were twice the price of supermarkets. I had hoped to find more locally produced wares but unfortunately didn't. I'm sure the Cafe offerings were fine but as a tourist shop I thought it was very average.
Thanks so much for supporting our family run farm stall. We are just coming out of 3 years of drought and it is no secret that the Central West has been hit hard. We pride ourself on stocking over 20 local brands but unfortunately cannot compete with the likes of the big supermarkets on price. With a bit of luck and good weather our orchard shall resume producing fruit for everyone to enjoy this coming season.
We hope you enjoyed your time in our beautiful region.
Lovely little spot for some afternoon tea and a look around the farm shop. The staff were super friendly and they are very proud of their locally grown and sourced produce and there is so much of it - fresh fruit, eggs, jams, sauces, apple juice, oils, honey, pies and more. Their freshly made apple pies are delicious, unfortunately the coffee was incredibly milky. We would love to come back again during fruit picking season
Thanks so much for your feedback!
We hope to resume pick your own cherries towards the beginning of December. We appreciate you stopping by and supporting our family run business. Hopefully you can visit again soon.
Travelling through Millthorpe we stoped at a local cafe, The Millthorpe Providore and what a great experience it was.
They had lovely local produce and was pleasantly surprised to find Paling Yards Grove Poppy Seed Dressing
I can’t recommend it highly enough! Outstanding product!
We have since mail ordered extra supplies
Love coming here- fresh local fruit and eggs for sale. Tastefully renovated. Ideal for passing buses
Saturday morning coffee and eats, returned home totally relaxed via the beautiful Central West countryside with beautiful local honey.
