“Scenic and strategic location of well equipped vacation home”
Reviewed 11 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

After managing the small lane leading upwards to this place you will be struck by the beauty of this location. A wonderful view into a vast valley with the background of majestic mountains. You are tempted to forget about excursion plans and just enjoy your stay in a well equipped luxury house with a lot of space and rooms for a family of seven or more. The kids loved it.
Patrick, the owner, took his time to explain the functions of all the utilities. He also is the owner of a popular Irish pub with music in Killarney.
Excursion plans? You can not be better positioned to reach the Ring of Kerry, the spectacular Dingle peninsula or the town of Killarney.
The rent is not cheap, but worth every penny.

“Spacious house in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 14 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The views from the back of the house are stunning. Good location for Killarney city and the surrounding attractions such as Ross Castle, Gap of Dunloe and the Ring of Kerry. The house is very pet friendly with large lawns where dogs can go mad safely as the immediate area is free of cars. Good sized kitchen, living/dining area and bedrooms. Comfortable beds. Recommended for a relaxing break.

“Amazing Views, Amazing House ”
Reviewed 8 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Stayed for May Bank holiday weekend, arrived at the house and the view was one of the best I've ever seen. The house could not be faulted, it was perfect. Will definitely stay again. Thanks to Patrick, great person to deal with.

“Lovely Location - content lets it down”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stunning location, overlooking Loch Leane, stands in lovely garden, quiet and peaceful.
The whole area is wonderful and we did have an excellent weeks holiday.

Large house probably more suitable for large families, or two sharing, except, it was quite poorly equipped, especially the kitchen. I found the standard of equipment poor quality and lacking in quantity, knives and forks were cheap, glasses cheap and very few wineglasses. The general standard of the kitchen was poor, broken cupboards and cleanliness of cupboards a little suspect.
The bedroom had a small double bed, with sheets and a blanket. We bought a new quilt and covers for ourselves from the local town, preferring to use them.
The wifi was very good, fast and consistent.
The whole impression of the furniture was of a sparseness and coldness, pity as the location was so good.
I understand that it is difficult to keep everything spotless in a country location, but the dead bluebottles and flies, on the windowsills and in the bath was not a pleasant discovery.
The hot water was a difficult issue, it had to be remembered to turn it on and off, due, possibly in part, to the boiling noises and spitting from the pipes, that resulted if it was left on too long, consequently, we usually had just cold water. We did not have any heating on, and it was quite cold, I understand we could have paid for, and chosen to have the heating on, but it was only later we realised how cold the house could become. We were requested to pay extra amounts for electricity, heating and cleaning, something I had not been fully aware of, when booking.
I think if the house could be updated and equipped with better quality kitchen equipment and furniture, it could be lovely.

Dear Geri,
While we were happy to hear that you "did have an excellant weeks holiday" we were quite dissappointed by some of your comments which we will respond to for the benefit of other guests.
1 On making your reservation it was confirmed by email that electricity and oil are metered and charged. This was further discussed with you when we checked the meters together on your arrival.
2 While you decided not to use the heating you could have turned it on at any stage and the house would be warm in 20 minutes despite the cold weather.
3 We were quite surprised and dissappointed that you left without paying the small sum of €19 for the week's electricity and failing to tidy the lawn after your dogs fowling it.
4 We do not agree with your comments regarding the kitchen and furnishing. Our kitchen is equipped to a very good standard
5 It is normal to clean the house before leaving. We offer guests the option to have cleaners do it for them at a reasonable sum of only €60. Most guests prefer to do it themselves but it is nice to have the option.
6 On arrival, I invited you to contact me at any time if you needed assistance as we only live next door. You had difficuly with the satellite and I quickly sorted it for you. At no stage did you mention any of the issues refered to in your review. Had you done so we would have attended to them immediately.
Neither did you mention the warm welcome you received or the complimentary snacks on your arrival.
regards,
Patrick
