Wonder why it says "4" stars.

We arrived quite early, but got a room well before our check-in time, which is good. Upon arrival we've been charged "tourist tax", which came to almost €6 per person for 7 nights. Got the room keys and all inclusive bands and went up to our room. Room was clean, yet tiny. Beds were far from comfortable, so were the pillows. But it might be just mine and my gf's preferances. All inclusive band givea you an access to drink bar (open from 11:00 to 23:00) and dining room (time windows for your meals are 7:45-10:15, 13:00-15:00, 19:00-21:30) during which you can choose from prepared food. Food isn't bad, however it could be greatly improved in my opinion. Dining room staff speak very poor English, not even trying to respond to your questions in any other language but spanish (which is a bit annoying considering I am not English and have to use foreign language to communicate with them). On a couple of occasions I felt they make up the rules as they face the problem. For instance to get bottled water you have to ask staff for assistance since it is locked in the padlocked fridge. They refused to provide me with that water upon request, because "they don't give them bottles in the morning". Also there is a weird rule for men only, which restricts you from wearing tank tops or other clothes with no sleeves. Women are allowed to wear practically everything, even if it's a light dress onto naked body (which wasn't that prefect either). Drink bar staff do take their time every now and then, however it got better and better with them in my case the more time I spent in that hotel. 3 nights out of 7 we had pretty noisy neighbors, which hotel hardly dealt with at all (all were after 12 o'clock). Cocktails were pre-mixed, pools were cold (in their defence it wasn't a season) and manager was looking at the guests during the meal time like they were about to steal his ppppprrecioussss. I wouldn't give this hotel 4 stars even on a good day, but it is possible to stay there and you will get mediocre service, which is better than no service at all. Hope this review helps.

We are happy for the praise to our cleaning service staff; it is an essential element in the perfect maintenance of our facilities. Our staff knows how to do their job up to the smallest detail. Do not hesitate; we will transfer your opinions and nice words to them.

We're sorry to hear that the room did not meet your expectations. In these cases we always ask our guests to come to the reception desk to assist them and offer a solution on site and as soon as possible. Depending on the availability, we could have offered you another room more in line with your preferences.

We are sad to hear that our teams are polite but not particularly helpful. It is one of our most important features that our staff has a good contact to our guests and welcomes them with open arms. We try to fulfill and even surpass all the expectations of all our target groups as they range from families to golden agers of all nationalities. We assure you that we choose and school them to cover as many languages as possible as we understand that good communication and service orientation are of prime importance to achieve maximum customer satisfaction, and we are sorry that on this occasion their performance did not meet your expectations.

I came here with my boyfriend. The room looks good and clean, but there was not garbage bin and we had to ask for it like twice. The tv does not work and we ask for it to each of the receptionist and no one could help us. The all inclusive service is really good though and the breakfast and dinner is really good in variety and delicious. For a 4 stars hotel there were no amenities on the room. Beds could be also better. Location is really good cause is close to everything and there are also close bus stop close to it. Pick up from the airport took long from the airport and it is a kind of difficult to find it.

Came for birthday holiday, age range 22-60. Hotel Is clean, staff are friendly but they don’t really care about your needs or problems whatsoever. Currently have 4 nights remaining(7 total). The bar is really slow for all inclusive, the staff take AGES. The bar staff can ignore you at times, even when you’re the only person there and they’ve said hola and continued to ignored you.The showers flooded our entire room(into suitcase), finally got fixed over 24hrs later so we couldn’t shower at all. No soap in public women’s bathrooms downstairs after telling the staff on 3 separate occasions. Shower has flooded the room again and there is no room change or immediate fix. Pretty disappointed, they really should have swapped rooms, or done something about the shower flooding , we have complained multiple times but the staff are not fussed about how it is for a 4* hotel. The rooms have no soundproofing, other noises from corridors and also upstairs are very loud. No peephole in door. Safe cost an extra charge, as do pool towels (50 EURO DEPOSIT!!!! Even though website says pool towels). Plates are hot at mealtimes, food is average for hotel buffet, but everything is cold by the time you begin to eat it. The room are really nice and clean (not private for showering or toilet use though - you have to know who you’re sharing with VERY well). The pool is nice and clean.

This hotel was booked as a last minute getaway but after seeing the great reviews and professional looking pictures we had very high expectations. Luckily we weren't disappointed. We were very impressed with the standards of the rooms, the cleanliness throughout the whole hotel and the facilities provided.

My only concern with the stay was the service in the bar, which was unbelievably slow. At times it could take 20 minutes of waiting to get served. Some times the bar staff would completely disappear and return about 10 minutes later, and just ignore the long line of customers waiting. They bar staff were also quite rude, and made up rules as they went along (e.g. we tried to order a coffee at 10.45pm but they said they wouldn't serve hot drinks after 10:30 - but after insisting we WILL have whatever we request on an all inclusive basis they served us the coffee in the end)
This part of the hotel really needs working on because every single person there was unhappy with the long wait times in the bar - and this was early on in the season!
Also note that while a small number of cocktails are part of the all inclusive package, they are pre-mixed from a machine.

Overall I'm very pleased with this holiday and would return.

Reception staff were very helpful as on arrival there was a problem with our room, it was quickly sorted and we were given another room. Room was newly decorated with nice overhead shower and cleaned to a high standard every day. Food was nice, always hot and a nice variety of food. We booked a bargain mini break and for the money we paid it was well worth it. The only downside was queueing at the bar for a drink. There was generally only 1 person serving and we stood sometimes for 10 minutes waiting to get served. The beach is about a 5 minute walk away with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Free safe and wifi was a bonus. Overall we would return again.

We stayed here for a weekend. Worst resort and 4 star and all inclusive i.ve ever been to. I never complain but rooms are tiny. No bathroom as such. A toilet door that pulls along in your bedroom and as the shower.
The restaurant is like a cafe. Help yourself to everything. Only place you can get water free even if you all inclusive. Bottled water is locked away in a fridge.
There isnt any coffee stations around only in the bar. The bar has kitchen tables and chairs no nice sofa.s.
Queque.s at the bar constantly and it closes for all inclusive at 11pm.
There isnt a snack bar at all.
Food totally disgusting and i.m not a fussy eater.
Only thing i liked was the hotel was clean and the new shower was amazing.
The resort so dirty. Run down. Dog poo everywhere. Lots of shops and restaurants closed down completely. Please dont go to arenal
