I rarely leave reviews, but this villa deserves feedback as it was PERFECT. It is a professional , smooth and hassle free process from the moment you enquire. Everything is catered for before you go and on arrival we were greeted by Jill and (Jills mum?) who are delightful. They gave us a lovely welcome, a great brief on the property; not too long and were at the end of the phone if we needed anything. The fridge was loaded with welcome goodies, so if you get there late, you will have enough food for a meal.....for another 3 days! All you need is at hand in the detailed info book in the villa. It was clean, cool and in a great location; close to Ayia Napa, but not too close! A short walk from the delightful Potomas harbour and its GREAT fish restaurants.
Its a good 40 second walk to the beach......which may have been our own private beach.
The villa is super clean, cool, well furnished and functional. The wi-fi was better than it is at home! We had a choice of English TV channels and Playstation 2 games, whichvkept the kids entertained (that's when we could get them out of the pool). There was also a gas BBQ with coals and hot plate, outdoor lighting, plenty of comfy chairs, tables and sunbeds. I could go on, but I think it is superb value for money and would find it hard for anyone to be disappointed if they were to stay there. THANK YOU Steve, Jill........and Jills mum!

“Excellent service from initial booking to end of holiday”

Stephen and Eileen have a little treasure here. The villa is exactly as they describe, extremely well maintained and equipped - home from home. On arrival, the very extensive and cheerful welcome we received from Jill (even in the middle of the night) was refreshing and exactly what you hope for. The welcome pack was also just what you would like to get - enough for a midnight snack and breakfast next morning. The villa is in a beautiful location, plenty of taxi services and buses to help you get around if you don't have a car. Too many excellent restaurants to mention, we did not have one bad meal. The pool is immaculately maintained twice a week. I could not recommend this villa too highly - Stephen is a perfect gentleman to deal with, no question was too trivial (and I had plenty). If you have come to this site - well done, you won't be disappointed.

Liked best: The villa and the pool
Liked least: Quite close to other villas but in general everyone was very thoughtful about the volume of voices, music and bed time!

“Cannot fault a thing! You can't go wrong at Potomos!”

We visited Cyprus for a wedding in Larnaca Bay (about 15-20 minutes away by taxi) and decided to extend our stay for 7 nights, there was 6 of us sharing - all friends.

Potomos is seriously a home to home and is the perfect place to stay, especially if you want somewhere to relax, is by the sea, with your own pool, with no interruptions and something near to Aiya Napa town (about 10 minutes away by taxi), but nothing too noisy/pricey.

Potomos is one of the newer built complexes in Aiya Thekla surrounded in a gated community with a pass code. It is a quiet residential area which is great for family holidays or even to share with friends. Shelly (the neighbour next door) is lovely - she can give you the number of Costas/George, both local taxi drivers who will come into the complex to take you where you need to go. I would definitely recommend using them if you need to go to the supermarket or into town, they are very reliable, friendly guys. (Steve also has some great taxi contacts which we used when we arrived in Cyprus).

Potomos was really convenient for us with 3 bedrooms and 3 separate bathrooms, an outside pool, and all the facilities you would need if you were staying at home in the UK! Plus, no need to take any kind of adapter plugs if you are travelling from the UK - they have the same plug sockets as us - Result!

We were amazed by the attention to detail at the villa - playstation available, books to read, BBQ equipment, all kitchen facilities, and a bonus - dishwasher and washing machine (personally, I took some laundry products in my suitcase so I would only have to unpack when back in the UK! Brilliant!). There is also an area to dry your clothes on the upstairs balcony overlooking the pool and a view to the sea!

You will need to take out the rubbish, bins are by the main entrance gate. Additionally we met the pool maintenance guy who comes to the villa twice to clean the pool. There is a net available should you need to clean yourself ... There is an ice-cream van man that comes into the community!

Stephen (the owner) has been so great in the booking procedure, with swift replies to questions and queries and even arranged a mini bus to pick us up from the airport once we arrived. We were also able to have the whole of our last day at the villa. because there were no other guests checking in on the night of our departure (which meant no need to lock luggage away at the hotel or check out by 12pm!).

Upon arrival to Potomos, Jill (who helps Stephen in Cyprus) greeted us at the entrance, welcomed us and thoroughly showed us around step by step in each room, making sure we knew how to use appliances, and talked us through the area, what was in the surrounding area, the local supermarkets etc. She was great and will also show you where the keys are (and where to keep them safe).

Because we arrived quite late in the day we received a welcome hamper containing essentials that we might need. Water, bread, eggs, milk, tea, coffee that sort of thing - This kept us going for the night/next morning (we headed out to Aiya Napa town on the night we arrived and didn't get back till 6am!).

The following day we got a taxi to Carrefour supermarket - this is the closest and has everything you could possibly need food/drink wise, including food for the BBQ! There is a pharmacy opposite Carrefour in case you need anything.

The rest of the holiday was spent by the pool, with drink in hand. I would definitely try to visit Nissi beach (in Aiya Napa) which is probably the best/popular beach in Cyprus - there is a great restaurant there that serves yummy strawberry mojitos and the most amazing Cypriot meze!

We did venture out one night to try and eat at the local restaurants in Aiya Thekla (Zaffiri I think) - we must have walked for ages on such a hot night before we headed back to the villa.

Things to think about:

We ended up hiring a car for the last 3 days of our stay because we were spedning a fair bit on taxis (around 80-90 Euros for 3 days).

I really think you should consider hiring a car to get around - a 5 minute drive can turn into what feels like an hours walk (with our Zaffiri incident above!).

If you do want to head out for a night out in Napa, bars close around 1-2am to make way for club entrances. We went to Senior Frogs (bar), Castle Club and another one I cant remember the same of! Drink before you leave as drinks can become expensive.

Also do read all the information provided at the villa in the folders - it's all very helpful and will give you an idea of where you are, compared to the rest of the island! How to get around on bus, where to visit, that sort of thing.

If you want to get any tattoos when in Cyprus - visit Blood Brother in Aiya Napa town (opposite the monastery) They have only recently set up but have been in Cyprus for about 6 years. Marc was my tattooist (All from the UK).

There's nothing else I can remember apart from have a great stay at Potomos, we were really upset when we left and wished we stayed a bit longer!

I just wanted to thank Stephen for all his help to date! We had such an amazing stay and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn't have found a better place to stay! Thank you!

Pav x

P.S. we left some good old (un-used) BA blankets from the plane journey at the villa!

“Next to sea, great villa, very homely and comfortable, wonderful pool.”
Reviewed 17 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Easy to book and arrange, fabulous restaurant at Potamos beach and harbour, a very relaxing stay, a few kilometres from Ayia Napa. Lots of nearby beaches, the nearest 75 metres away.
Lots of shopping a short drive away, food wine and entertainment all very reasonably priced.
We have had a great family holiday , with lots of nearby facilities.
