“Can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed 30 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We are a family with a toddler and spent ages researching different properties for a week away before finding this gem! From the time of booking to the time we left communication was great and any questions we had were answered promptly.
Now to the most important bit - the amazing house!! It was simply wonderful. The attention to detail was superb, no corners have been cut and it is luxuriously furnished throughout. Every little thing that you could think of was there and available to use, hidden within a drawer somewhere. We spent the first 3 days just relaxing in the house! It's a good sign when it's a struggle to leave the place to go off exploring the area!
The outside of the property provides spectacular views and the garden was full of wildlife, including deer and hare.
We would recommend it to anyone of any age group!
We can't wait to book another stay next year!

“A memorable Christmas in a fabulous home!”
Reviewed 3 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

This was our first stay here, based on previous impressive reviews, and we absolutely loved it. The whole house had the 'wow' factor, from the spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with it's floor to ceiling glass doors and windows, to the beautiful ensuite bedrooms with sound system throughout. Although in a courtyard, with other similar houses, it felt totally isolated, surrounded as it was by fields and mountains, and we were unaware of the neighbouring properties, even when relaxing in the hot tub. We notice that there appears to be a different hot tub from that featured in the website photos, and that the surrounding fence has been removed. This may have detracted from the fabulous views that we were able to enjoy, so we can only imagine that this is an improvement. We have stayed in other properties over Christmas, and struggled to produce the traditional turkey dinner, but here we found everything we could possibly wish for, and more besides! I compromised with a plastic mixing bowl to make the trifle in, but apart from that it was perfect - even my bread - and I definitely now want a double oven! We also loved the decorated Christmas tree and the very welcome basket of goodies. There were plenty of things for us to do in the surrounding area - we went on the Winter Safari watch at Highland Safaris and also fed the Red deer; the Glen Lyon drive is beautiful, and the Courtyard coffee shop in Kenmore makes for a very welcome and warming pit stop! We walked to Fortingall and visited the churchyard - the midnight service on Christmas Eve really set the scene for a magical Christmas Day. Braving the cold and lazing in the luxurious heat of the hot tub whilst drinking in the magnificent surrounding scenery (and a glass or 2 of wine!), was probably the highlight of our stay. Yes, it is expensive during peak times, but we think it was well worth it!

“Stunning Place - Highly Recommend”
Reviewed 30 January 2014 for a stay in August 2013

Yet another 5 stars to Croftgarrow Steading. The rental is in a reconverted stone farm building among other new and converted homes and cottages; that being said, it feels secluded and private. We agree that the photos and glowing reviews can't quite capture the magic of this rental. The rolling Scottish countryside is "no trespass" (I was told this by the farmer Alistair who was a really interesting character) which means you can wander around within reason - not into other peoples gardens or farmyards obviously, and keeping pasture gates closed of course. The River Lyon is literally a two minute walk away, there is so much to explore just by foot - ancient stone circles and strange cup marked stones abound. Fortingall is very interesting with the ancient yew tree and Pictish gravestones. A drive up Glen Lyon was the highlight of a very relaxing stay. Our teenage son was jet lagged and very happy to be left "at home" with the video game system provided. Amazing kitchen, every possible comfort, rain gear at the front door. Thank you to Angela for being so gracious - she waited to greet us and we were late. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

“One of the few properties which looks even better than the photos!”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Stayed for a few days of respite after New Year and it was exactly what we needed! The house is beautifully finished with lots of thoughtful extras such as the ice cream maker and dressing gowns for the hot tub. We felt very comfortable staying here and enjoyed the nights sitting beside the log fire. The weather was pretty bad when we visited so we spent much of the time indoors (which wasn't a problem!) but there are so many things to do outdoors in the surrounding countryside. It was also nice being personally greeted by Angela when we arrived - she was very helpful and efficient throughout the whole process ..thanks!

We're looking forward to having a few days off so we can return!

“Verging on 6 star!”
Reviewed 8 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Many places claim to be 5 star - and aren't. This went way beyond our expectations. Stayed with friends over New Year and can recommend celebrating at midnight in the Jacuzzi! Everything you need is catered for in comfortable and luxury surroundings. Can't recommend it highly enough.
