Due to storms and bad weather, the beach has been severely eroded.
Large rocks are now exposed and it somewhat unsafe for children.
The northern aspect is great and there are some good waves at times, especially at First Point.

Fantastic beach with great views and good waves. Ideal for the whole family day trips. Take Umbrellas with you for shade as it can get very hot there. The main problem is finding a car park, so go very early to get one. The traffic can be ridiculous especially during weekends & school holidays. Having said that it’s well worth the trip. The water is refreshing and the Hastings street shops are just a few metres away.

Took out 2 teenage sons for a visit and swim, however couldn’t get a park after 1 hour of trying, so we left very disappointed.

The main beach is a busy spot so if your wanting a quiet place to swim this isn’t for you. It is a beautiful beach and very picturesque with the shops a stones throw away.
