Hands down the most family friendly holiday you can imagine!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 13 May 2020
Hands down the most family friendly holiday you can imagine. We've been visiting for the last 7 years with kids aged from toddler to teenager and we all find something new to explore and enjoy every time. Animals, puddles, playground, bikes, trees to climb, tractors to ride, cosy fires and delicious food.

No need to overpack... Marissa, Phil and team know just what is needed and make sure every detail is covered so everyone has a wonderful stay. Don't have a bike... no worries, there's plenty to ride. Didn't bring kids gumboots? They've got those too... time to find a muddy puddle and a hungry animal to feed!

My personal tips:
- Struggling to get those training wheels off? This is the place! Both my kids learned to ride a bike here.
- Must not forget wine... you'll be shocked at how much time you get to sit and relax while the kids are so occupied.
- Stay with friends! The cottages are close enough that you'll have a holiday together while also having your own space.
- Don't bring screens. As soon as you've driven in the (beautiful!) driveway the kids will be so preoccupied that they'll forget about them... as long as they're not in sight. But sitting inside on a screen would be a massively wasted opportunity here.

The farm was big with lots of areas to stroll and look/feed the animals. Food for the farm animals were placed near the pens and my little girl had a lot fun feeding them. We love the peaceful and relaxing ambience of the place.

We have stayed at Freshwater Creek Cottages every year for our anniversary since 2016 and we look forward to returning every time we stay! There’s are so many animals to visit with plenty of good provided for you to feed them. Our favourite part is the wood fire in the cottage that makes it the perfect escape from the city. Couldn’t recommend Freshwater Creek Cottages enough and can’t wait to stay again

We had the best time when we stayed at Fresh Water Creek! As a family unit we hired out three of the cabins and others stayed on the farm too. We didn’t even notice others there until we did the tractor tour on the Sunday morning (which was awesome) learning all about the farm. Highlights was nibbles and drinks at sunset, the tractor tour, collecting fresh eggs, the many bikes available for the kids to ride, feeding the animals... the list goes on! Next time we will stay during day light savings to get even more time outside. The fire at night in one cottage each night was also beautiful. Can’t wait to visit again!!!! Thank you for having us FWCC - Kate

The hosts are welcoming and knowledgeable, bringing you into the farming world with their daily guided tour and opportunities to mingle with the animals. From feeding the animals, to picking apples in the orchard or playing with the variety of play equipment across the grounds there is no shortage of things to do. The cottages are cosy and you really sense you are experiencing the simpler life but with the luxury of a fire place fully stocked with wood. This is where our middle child learnt to ride a bike without training wheels and we went on a self guided night tour of the farm. We plan to go back again.

It's always great to go stay at Freshwater Creek Cottages.
You can forget the long week you had and open a bottle of wine next to the fireplace or look at the animals outside your window.
The owners are very accommodating and can even sell you some wine and supplies at very decent prices if you left home in rush and forgot to pack your breakfast supplies.
Very good place for kids with so many things for them to do.
