“Very nice”
Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed at the Coastal Barn last July and we liked the studio very much. It was very clean and really spacious, with a large lounge, a kitchen with all the necessary utensils and a very nice bathroom. Rita was away for the weekend but she left a nice note for us and we were welcomed by her husband. As it was pretty cold in July, our hosts had put a heater in the studio, which came in very handy. We only stayed one night but we could easily have stayed more.

Our stay in the loft was superb - a great experience in a beautifully decorated loft space. Rita was a very helpful and welcoming host - even providing us with some olive oil from her own kitchen to cook our kangaroo steaks! The breakfast basket was perfect - lovely bacon!
This was the best accommodation, quality and value for money we had on our Great Ocean Road trip - thank you. Very happy to recommend.

Room Tip: Do stay here if you are in Port Fairy - the walk around the island is worth doing.

From the moment we pulled up and saw the quaint barn and rita's chickens roaming around the front garden we knew this was going to be a lovely experience. We stayed in the studio downstairs, which was beautifully furnished with everything you needed. The bath was quite large and fit two people comfortably, and the shower was also roomy, with a unique shower head which felt wonderful.

The cook your own breakfast was delicious, including the freshly laid eggs from the chickens, and we were only around 5 minutes drive from the town centre.

The barn was very quiet and relaxing, and our whole experience in port fairy was delightful. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough and will be sure to stay here again when we return.

We stayed here one night (with teenage daughter) on our trip down the Great Ocean Road. Top floor loft accomodation with 2 Bedrooms, Bathroom, Dining, Lounge (with gas heater) and Kitchen. Breakfast basket was provided by the owner .. thanks Rita!!! Close to town (Rita can point you in the right direction for a good meal). Only $150 for the night - terrific value for money. There is also a Balcony on the front (unfortunately we had bad weather and did not use). For all those Country people who are into quilting etc this is the place for you!!!! After reading all the reviews and after our stay in the lwr studio, I agree with all the fine comments which were made. The B & B is very spacious, very quiet, very clean and Rita is very attentive to her guests. The ingredients in the breakfast basket were ample for us to make our own breakfast. We walked along the shore road to town, highly recommended.
You can't go wrong with this B & B. No wireless internet at this time.
