“What a place to stay !”
Reviewed 10 March 2011

My partner & I stayed here for our 50th birthdays, and what a place to stay. We booked it based on the views of trip advisor and we were not disappointed. At first i was concerned about not staying right in town, but once we arrived and saw the view from our villa, my concerns went away. We were going to go into town for our birthday celebrations, but decided we had the best view from our villas, so got food and cooked each night in our villa. Very clean, enough provisions for continental breakfast, lovely spa ,great view and comfortable bed. Very private and far away from any of the other 4 villas. Alan the host was very welcoming and we got the impression that nothing was too much trouble if we needed to ask him for anything. Have advised all my friends to stay here for a romantic stay with their other half's and after 20 yrs of flying for a major airline and staying in 5 star hotels around the world, I cannot fault this place. Worth the money.

Thanks for those lovely comments. We love to hear those stories. Our place is the perfect getaway, quiet, peaceful, yet only 5 mins in the car into town. The views are amazing no matter what your point of view. Even after living with those views everyday we are still in awe of them......rainbows, storm fronts, the moon rising over the ocean, the twinkling lights of Apollo Bay.

The location and view are excellent; quiet and secluded yet only a few kilometres out of the bay with a panoramic view which will not disappoint. Ideal get away for couples of all ages. A lot of thought has gone into the design and layout of the villas; the fittings and quality are good and well maintained as is the landscaping around the units.

Our villas are very well appointed with those little touches that personalize...fresh flowers from our garden, handmade soap and a chilled bottle of wine on arrival. We lovingly tend our grounds which are planted with a range of native and flowering shrubs to attract birdlife to the villas.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Point of View. Beautiful spot overlooking Apollo Bay. What a view! Worth bringing food and drink supplies (get in Melbourne - choice is limited here if you're a foodie) as the view beats what you'd get in any of the restaurants by far - also perfect to have a drink and not have to worry about the winding dirt road back up. .

Good idea to bring goodies for a relaxing drink/snack on the deck as you can't beat those views. Each balcony has sun lounges as well as dining table and chairs. Inside the villa is another dining table and chairs. You can also turn the couch to face the view and relax without going anywhere. If you do want someone else to prepare your food, there's always the taxi service in town to get you back and forth.

When searching for somewhere to stay whilst celebrating our first wedding anniversary Point of View looked to be exactly what we were looking for. From the first moment of our arrival we weren't disappointed. The villas are in a great secluded spot up above Apollo Bay and have magnificent views of the town, ocean and surrounding countryside. There are five villa's on the site but they are far enough away from each other that you have complete privacy. The place was immaculate and the kitchen well equipped (incl. milk, tea & coffee and bread for breakfast). We loved the gas log fire and the bathroom was luxurious with a fantastic view. Our only criticism (and more my husband's than mine!) was that the TV had Queensland and Northern Territory free to air stations so he couldn't get local news, although there was other news on the satellite channels.
It's only a short drive in to town (mind you down a very windy, narrow gravel road!) so it was easy to pop down to Apollo Bay for dinner and anything else we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our break here and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for that something out of the ordinary and special. The service we received from Jacinta who was looking after the property was fantastic too, she was just lovely.

That's exactly why we designed and built our villas.....perfect for honeymoon, anniversary, birthday celebrations. We also love the feedback about how clean and well presented our villas are. We're glad our high standards receive such positive feedback.

We stayed at Point of View for Christmas eve and Christmas Day. It was our second stay at the villas. The first being the opening week about 4 years ago. Allen arranged to have us stay in the same apartment as the first time around.

The apartments are located out of town towards the hills behind it. The view from the windows and deck look across undulating farm land and bush over the township and out to sea.

The apartment looked as if it hadn't aged a day it was sparkling clean with a few more luxury additions this time.

The panoramic views across undulating land to the coast is spectacular to say the least.

The apartments are a hexagon shape and provide views from every angle. Even the two person spa has a wonderful private view. The queensize bed was very comfortable and the linen was high quality.

The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare meals and a dishwasher to take care of the washing up. There were plently of breakfast provisions left and a bottle of wine in the fridge.

On Christmas Eve we dined at Chris's Restaurant. The location of this restaurant is also out of town in a different direction at Beacon Point. They serve fresh modern greek food which was delicious. It is in a secluded spot also with panoramic views.

We had bought fresh seafood from the Fishermans co-op located oon the wharf in Apollo Bay township for Christmas lunch. After a long walk
on the beach Christmas morning we returned to the accommodation where we sat in the lap of luxury for the remainder of the day.

Each pavillion is seperate and has undercover parking attached. It is very secluded and private.

The service provided by Allen is exceptional. Discreet but attentive and prompt.

We can't wait for our third trip.

Attention to detail is one of the things we pride ourselves on. We're really fussy about our cleaning and maintenance standards and many people such as yourselves comment on how spotless and clean our villas are....exactly what we'd like to experience when we go away for a break.
