Great Overnight Stay!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 June 2018via mobile
Very busy town & lots of accommodation to choose from for an overnight stay, all motels did seem very busy though. We were lucky to have chosen the Town House Motor Inn. Rooms seemed newly renovated & very spacious everything required, maybe heater in bathroom would have been nice? After a long day of driving we decided on room service and the food was excellent and we couldn’t have asked for a better meal, we had struggled all week with the standard of food in other establishments but not here! Would definitely stay here again, as a non smoker only downer is other people smoking outside their units so u can’t have windows/doors open.

Spent a week at the Townhouse for a work event. The room was always extremely clean and very comfortable and staff are very helpful and friendly. Bed was just right, a great night’s sleep! Lovely shower, air conditioning, plenty of room, good wifi, everything that I needed, and the breakfasts were super too. Great location, I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay. We were in the two bedroom family room and it had lots of space and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We ordered breakfast and it was reasonably priced and very yummy. We will definitely be back!

My family and friends had a wonderful dinner for my birthday. Food was beautiful and the service was fantastic, no one went home hungry or disappointed. The restaurant is nice and clean and even the head chief came out to see if we were happy with the meal. The restaurant was busy.

We were very happy with our overnight stop in The Town House Motor Inn on our way back home. Managers very helpful. We even got a phone call from the Restaurant to enquire as to whether we wanted room service.

For all the hype of it being the “town house” we were very disappointed with lots of things.
There were 4 of us staying ,
Including our 5 yr old granddaughter.

The woman in the office was very rude and abrupt.

Especially when asked if the pool was able to be used as the water level was quite low and it appeared that the filter wouldn’t be able to be used efficiently. And the spa attached to the pool is in desperate need of cleaning.

Sure , the room was clean but very dated, but it was a 40+ degree day and the small air conditioner struggled to cool the room at all , even with the ceiling fan on .

But the real pain started at 7 am in the morning .
Our room was closest to the staff access to the main building and the door banging and talking woke us ALL up .
      Completely rude and inconsiderate.
Just because you start work early doesn’t mean the entire universe has to wake up as well.
When hubby went and complained he was met with more rudeness , complete denial and lies from the same lady in the office!!!!
WE were the ones woken up by rude staff !!!

Wake up to yourselves! We won’t be back .

Anita I'm sorry your stay wasn't a more enjoyable one.
Summers in Goondiwindi can be quite hot; over 40 degrees is extremely common here and so our pools (just like our plants) tend to dry up very quickly. We top up our pool regularly to ensure that it is in perfect working order, however is sounds like the spa wasn't as clean as it could have been and I do apologise for that.
Just like your air-con at home our split systems do take a little while to cool down your room on such a hot day. When turned on in the heat of the afternoon it can take 30 minutes or so to cool your room down to 23 or below. I know on a hot summer afternoon that feels like an eternity but I assure you, the units are modern and have been sized and installed by an air-conditioning specialist to be an appropriate size for each room. They remote control located on the wall controls temperature, fan speed and direction; instructions for using it are printed in our compendiums.

Regarding the loud noises from 7am - I completely understand your frustration at being awoken early; no one enjoys that, especially when you have been travelling all day with young children! We have spoken to our cleaning staff and asked them to be considerate of their volume and close doors quietly. However the fact remains that, as was explained to you, our cleaning staff don’t start work until 7:30am. The only person in attendance is the office person you were speaking with and they remain at the front desk to serve guests as they depart and arrive. Therefore the noises which woke you must have come from other departing guests. Unless guests are being unruly there is unfortunately not much we can do about the volume of their speech or slamming of car doors, other than reminding them to be considerate of their fellow guests.
I do apologise that the explanation you were given that morning felt to you to be denial; it can be hard to present factual information without it seeming a little cold.
We hope you had a safe onwards journey home.
