Excellent holiday experience

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Nov 2018
There were six of us wishing to spend 2 nights at a place in Caloundra. My initial contact with the Manager of the Raintrees Resort made me feel confident that we had chosen wisely. Positive, friendly and helpful, she was most reassuring before and after our arrival. The three bedroom ground floor apartment was just perfect for our requirements. The huge kitchen and family room had two patios - one at either end of the apartment. The rooms were very clean and well set out. Having an ensuite bathroom in the main bedroom prevented congestion at busy times. Easy access to Moffat Beach and local restaurants was perfect. Two swimming pools are a bonus.

Room Tip: A ground floor apartment suits people with mobility problems.

Just back from 5 nights , we had a 2 bedroom townhouse which was really well appointed , nice private courtyards front and rear , everything is really clean and the grounds are well looked after. Our hosts Graeme and Sharon couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable , and a short stroll to the beach and shops. Loved it!

We booked 2 x 3 bedroom units for a family getaway . This Resort is in a perfect location with its own walkway to Moffat Beach. In fact, this end of the Coast blew me away ( I only live just up the coast at Nambour) with the coastal walkways, parks and just a real good holiday feel.
At the Resort is 2 pools, the one with the slide is heated. Beside the pool area is the bbqs and tables under a palm pagoda. Surrounding the resort, units, pool area is lush rainforest.
The rooms are privately owned, so every luxury is there for your use. Could not fault anything. Units are clean, and our ground floor ones had a back and front very private court yard with tables and comfortable seating.
Secure car parking being under the complex was easily accessed and a bonus when we carried our gear to our units.
Sharron in management was very helpful, courteous and did everything to make our stay so very enjoyable. I give this Resort a true 5 star for its comforts, privacy, location and good management.

Thankyou for taking the time to do a review. Like you we too believe the Resort is in a perfect location. Moffat Beach is a bit of a hidden gem that is gradually being discovered. As well as the beach, the parks, playgrounds, cafes & restaurants are making the area more and more popular. With the help of the owners we are continuing to upgrade the Resort apartments as well as the grounds. We hope you can return to Raintrees to again enjoy what we have to offer,
Regards Sharon

We stayed here for two nights in appartment number 2. We were visiting Australia Zoo so was only 15 minute drive from the accommodation. The grounds are lovely and a very short walk to the beach. The pool with slide was good but heated pool was not very warm. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Probably could do with a spring clean for those bigger things like carpets steam cleaned, curtains and skylight shafts cleaned as these were dirty but otherwise the main amenities were spotless. We also booked through booking . Com who had made an error in the price and the hotel did honour this discounted fee which was very nice of them. All in all we would stay here again as great for families.

Our first stay at Raintrees was with the children and we had a wonderful time - so wonderful that my husband and I have been back twice on our own, even though it means paying for a two bedroom apartment when we only need one (all the apartments are 2 or 3 bedroom). The setting at the end of a quiet street surrounded by rainforest is fantastic. We have found the managers incredibly helpful and friendly all three times and on our recent visit Sharon went out of her way to give us useful information and ensure that our visit was enjoyable. I hope that we will be able to go back again in the future. All three apartments that we have stayed in have been great. My husband would have liked better wi-fi, but that was a minor issue. I am mystified by bad reviews and can only relate to one detail, that the first time we visited we did not know that the beach directly out the back gate is not patrolled. We had no problem walking the ten minutes around the corner to the patrolled surf beach, Dicky Beach and it will be news to the many families on Moffat Beach that it is not suitable for swimming. There are lots of families who find this beach a better option than the patrolled beach because of the area where the Tooway River comes in to the beach, which is a lovely place to paddle without big waves. I love the grassed area with BBQs nearby that gives the option of getting into the shade when the sun is too hot. There are five fabulous cafes in Seaview Terrace to go out for lunch or even breakfast. If you go to Cafe on the Beach, have the butterscotch and macadamia pancakes! Thanks, Sharon and Graeme for another blissful holiday.

Room tip: Most rooms have internal or external stairs or both. Book directly and ask for ground floor if stairs not an option.

Hi Wendy thank you for taking the time to do your review, we do greatly appreciate it. In regards to the wi-fi we are hoping to greatly improve our system when we connect to the NBN later this year but without the hiccups we so often hear about. Currently we run on adsl2 which is our only option & can be a bit slow when the lines get crowded. We would also love to have a flagged patrolled area for our beach especially during holiday periods & it has been put to council & the Dicky Beach surf club previously but I believe there would not be enough lifeguards to cover a roster for both beaches. And yes Raintrees is our happy place as well,
Kind Regards Sharon

We just stayed here for the weekend it's a lovely place to stay. The kids loved the pool with the slide. The beach is five minutes walk and the 3 bedroom apartment was roomy and comfortable to stay. The nice thing about staying here is that it's very peaceful and relaxing. Would love to have stayed longer.
