excellent location with delightful water views from room balconys. A short walk to Bulcock and Kings beach. Bedroom equipped with a very good mattress, so important these days for a sound nights sleep. The only negative is the very tight car park spaces making it difficult to unload if the space either side is in use

We visited most of the spots on the Sunshine Coast during our stay and Caloundra was by far the quietest and most family friendly option. The Breakfree is a lovely property right accross a quiet street to the water. Compare the ocean front Mooloolaba resorts that are across the beach from a crazy multilaned road. Would you want to walk your kids accross that every day? We wouldn't! A range of great eateries right on the waterfront, basically on the doorstep of the apartments. 5mins walk along the waterfront and you are at a fantastic shaded playground (Happy Valley) and rockpools for the kids (and big "kids"!) at low tide. Head out the reception side of the property and you are right in the middle of the shopping precinct with lots of variety (still super quiet though). The Caloundra Street Fair runs there every Sunday morning too. People often just stopped their cars when we were crossing the road, even if we weren't on a pedestrian crossing! Caloundra is a super friendly place! There are two supermarket options within 5min drive (or you can walk if your kids are a bit older than ours). The pool is lovely - you are swimming looking right out at the Pumicestone Passage - and our son opted to swim there every single day, rather than the beach. It's a great pool for little kids too, not just adults. Well set up rooms. Caloundra is about 30mins (or less) from all major attractions on the Sunshine Coast and most of the travellers we met there were Australian, which we think says a lot. It takes about 10min in busy morning traffic to get out onto the Bruce Highway and then you are on your way to wherever. Or you could stay in Caloundra and explore there. We would totally rate Breakfree and Caloundra if you are travelling with young kids and you prefer peace and quiet while still having great facilities at the hotel and nearby. You could just enjoy exploring the town or hit the road and explore the region - both are easily posible from this location. We did a bit of both. This was our first overseas holiday since having our son and it was super stress free.

Hi Erin,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. It is great to see that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay from the resort itself to our wonderful little town. Our location right in the heart of Caloundra makes us the perfect place to explore Caloundra by foot.

I hope we can welcome you back to our resort next time you are on the Sunshine Coast.

Kind Regards,

Tim H

The pool was very nice and held the sun for most of the day. However our apartment was quite dirty - particularly the kitchen... an added "bonus" was the large pair of pink knickers one of my kids found under their bed.

This is about our 5th - 6th stay with BreakFree Grand Pacific. The ensuite shower made weird and loud noises when in use, behind the wall. I have paid less for better rooms at this resort. Five(5) tissues left in the ensuite box, 4x toilet rolls for a family of five for 4x days. Things are starting to look/feel dated at this accommodation. We still enjoyed our time because it is right on the boardwalk and walking distance to beaches. We might see what else is around next time we decide to stay at Caloundra.

Hi Noeld447,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with yourt feedback. I was sorry to read that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. I have passed on your comments regarding the water hammer to our maintenance team for investigation. We do leave a spare roll of toilet paper and box of tissues in the vanity of each bathroom and if these are used there is plenty more available from reception.

I hope you do choose to stay with us again next time you are in Caloundra.

Kind Regards,

Tim H
