Weekend Stay

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Sept 2019via mobile
I stayed here for two weekends during August. 1st weekend I had a room at the back, 2nd weekend was a room at the front. I felt the 1s at the back were slightly better so if you have the option ask for 1 at the rear. Walls & tad thin & could hear guys next door chatting but it didn't bother me at all.

Yes it was dated but spotlessly clean & had everything you could need. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Rooms were serviced daily. There is ample parking on site.

I stayed at the wayfarer overnight as a stop over on my drive up to northern NSW. I looked for cheap Accommodation in the area and this one came up as the most affordable.
The rooms are very much what you pay for. They had old decor and the bed felt very old.
The mattress from the room I stayed in was very uncomfortable and worn. I woke up with a sore back from the sagging of the mattress.
Other than the bad bed the rest of the room was okay, it was also air conditioned which kept the room warm overnight.

The Wayfarer is certainly nothing flash but I was comfortable enough for a couple of nights as a single bloke. Standard oldish motel but staff were very pleasant and room was clean. Rate a little high for where it is and what you get - a long walk into town - but as a place to put your head, ok

From the outside it looks a bit tired, the friendly helpful staff ensured we were well looked after.
We had a room at the rear of the building and it was quiet enough to sleep well, bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper as it is right on the highway and trucks applying engine brakes cannot be controlled by the motel.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The pool was a welcome relief after long hot days in the Hunter valley.

Would definitely stay there again, due to the lovely staff and the price we paid.

Nice view over the Golf Course.

We we're pleasantly surprised by the Wayfarer Motel...
My family and I were traveling to stanthorpe and decided to break the trip up with a stop over in muswellbrook for a night.
Upon arriving at the Wayfarer I was a little hesitant on staying, it looked a little worse for wear is putting it lightly.
However upon checkin I was great by I lovely and very helpful receptionist who instruct3d that we would be around the back of the property to allow our baby a better nights sleep.
The room was basic and a little dark but everything was clean and tidy the linens were date as too was the decor and bathroom but nothing that a little spruce couldn't fix, everything work well and the water pressure in the shower was heaven!!!!! Only down side was a very very firm mattress!, which after a long day driving was a might disappointing.
We had a lovely stay and would not apposed to returning in the future.

Stayed here overnight and wished we had gone elsewhere. Room was dark, stained carpet, very old bedding and curtains hanging off the rail. Not what we expected for $99 a night. Should have heeded the previous Trip Advisor reviews.
