Unexpected Stay

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 July 2017via mobile
We stopped at the first place we saw in Muswellbrook because my husband was not well. He ended up in hospital for five days and I/we stayed here for seven days.

The rooms are extremely clean and tidy. They are small but everything works well. They all have tea/ coffee making facilities along with a toaster/ bread and butter plates, cereal bowls/ cutlery etc.
The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water.

My room was serviced every day with clean towels, rubbish bag etc.
A full clean and new sheets when I had been there five days.

Our bed was really comfortable. Even better than our own bed.

The washing machine and dryer are free but the guest one is broken, so you have to wait until the staff have finished the motel laundry before you can use it. This isn't always convenient because there is no time to get washing hung out and dried before dark.

The ladies who manage the motel during the week are lovely. Friendly and helpful. Tracey especially made my enforced stay more bearable.
The motel owner/ lessees need to spend some money on this motel. It is definitely showing signs of age and neglect of maintenance.

The rooms out the back are quieter and overlook the golf course.

Having now stayed at another location in Muswellbrook with our caravan and after talking to people; you can hear the trains from everywhere. There doesn't seem to be a quiet place in Muswellbrook.

KFC and BP are across the road. Aldi and Coles are a 5 - 10 minutes walk (about 800 metres)

Stayed here for 2 weeks in 2 different rooms. The first you couldnt swing a cat especially when sharing.
The second was a little better still tight when sharing.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. Free washing and dryer. There was a nice BBQ area 2 large gas BBQs and all the necessities.
Overall an ok stay.

Room tip: Back rooms a lot quieter

My laundry is bigger than the room we stayed in. We were give 2 thin crappy towels for a shower. Fridge clunked & rattled all night. Road noise was unbearable. Plus the dance party until 2am kept us all awake. Can hear everyone in the units nearby, every tap turned on, talking & coughing!! We had no sleep & left to go home first thing, missing swimming carnival because we were so exhausted from being up all night.

Stayed here for an overnight business trip. The motel was like a standard motor inn, with the basics, and not a lot more, and you paid for what you got. I was happy with the choice, although it was a reasonable walk to / from town to get myself something to eat. Good exercise I suppose. Would stay again.

Just needed a bed, toilet and shower, this was just right. Cost was only $82 per night, we thought it was good. Had a nice clean room, bed was comfy, shower was good. TV and coffee/ tea facilities were all there. Air-con worked great too. It's all you need as you go out to see things or visit people, so no need to pay too much for that. No restaurant attached, but there are cafe's etc around close-by. Very central to the main city area.

Room tip: back rooms are quiet, you don't hear the traffic
