On a recent visit to Katoomba we found this rather quirky cafe. The Gingerbread cafe and shop is located in an impressive stone building in the town centre.

The meals were as described in the menu and definitely made from fresh ingredients. The soup of the day was 'Pea, Chilli and Coriander', rather unusual combination but they did offer a 'taste test' without hesitation. The person in our party who ordered the soup, thought that the cook must have been a little heavy hand when adding the chilli as it was overpowering.

The lolly shop in the centre of the cafe area, was very enticing to both young and old.

Worth a visit.

An old church converted into a cafe and lolly shop. Good flat whites. Great atmosphere and a love selection of beautifully displayed lollies.

Nine of us came here for a late lunch/afternoon tea after arriving in Katoomba. The staff were extremely friendly and there was lots to look at in the shop. We were offered a sample of their gingerbread, which was delicious - it had a strong ginger taste. Some of our group ordered the soup of the day, one had a pulled pork sandwich and others scones and coffees etc. No complaints from any of us about the food - it was fresh and very enjoyable.

Stopped here for coffee and cake before heading back to Sydney. Lots of candy as I had hoped and plenty of Gingerbread. This is a great stop for kids as there is a cubby house, mini garden and seating outside and they can decorate their own gingerbread cookies (3 cookies, icing, candy) for about $15. Light brunch menu and a variety of drinks available. Coffee approx $4-$6 and cakes approx $9. Seating on long wooden benches inside and a mini candy store selling candy, gingerbread houses and little trinkets. Parking out the back. Accessible entry. Cute little spot and worth the visit on your way through Katoomba. Approx 1/2 hr to an 1hr coffee visit.

Had read many great reviews and had to make a bee line for this place - was worried that it wouldn't meet expectation - BUT IT DID!

The staff were great and allowed a taste before deciding and there were lots of other (non ice cream items) goodies to tempt! The gingerbread was great!

My Son didn't get past Chocy and thought it was awesome and after some tasting I plugged for the Peanut butter - WAS AWESOME! Not to sweet and Ioved the crunchy bits through it : )
