Been there several times recently since the new kitchen opened late last year and always had a great feed. The menu covers just about everything and the prices are very reasonable for what you get, except for the overpriced desserts. Drinks are club prices. You can buy a nice bottle of wine for around $25.The balcony overlooking Coogee is awesome too. On saturday nights and Sundays afternoons they have bands - sometimes good, sometimes not as with any club. On Thursdays they have trivia troo. Definitely a great place for locals to meet and visitors too who are always impressed!

Bar staff here are some of the worst I have seen in Australia. I'm guess some of them are connected to the directors as in any other places they would by no means be employed. The bar staff never smile , unfriendly , very slow and lazy including the bar manager lady who is obviously mates or connected somehow to the group of 5 workers I observed . I've been here 4 times now and it's sad to see that the bar staff are really not serious about providing a service and just turn up and expect customers to put up with poor service and unfriendly attitude but no, that's not what happens in the real world of hospitality.

This place has major potential and would be a gold mine, and desperately needs a staff and directors review of how this operates. Problems here start at the top and as I found out the member numbers have dropped recently I can understand why.

One good note is that the food area staff are managed well and seem to work well under pressure. Meals are good quality and very good pricing.

I advise that they clean out the bar management and bar staff and totally start again with staff like the food area staff that want to work.

I'm really surprised that the members of this club have let this go on for so long and not had an unannounced independent customer service review for the members and to benefit the club.
I really hope they can rectify their bar staff issue but from what I have experienced they must all be connect from the top level down. Otherwise any bussiness would not let this go on. In the industry we call it jobs for your mates.
As a bussiness owner myself this place is waisting members money on their bar staff as they don't provide even the basic customer service with a smile.

Very sad for a club to go down this path, compared to other bussiness in the close proximity which run real bar staff with half the staff and top service providing happy clientele and profit increase .

The prices here are quite reasonable and servings generous. It is by no means a 5 star, silver service establishment but hey don’t make themselves out to be one. The service was prompt, and we were here on st Patrick’s day, and it was packed. We had to wait for a table, and ended up sharing with another couple. They also have pokies etc.

Celebrating an early birthday lunch with family so decide on Coogee Legion Club - Take lift to 1st floor and have table on balcony which overlooks beautiful Coogee Beach
So much to choose from menu and seeing what is coming to other diners looked impressive enough
Seafood platters to share, steaks and more
We ordered the grilled Northern Territory barramundi with vegetables , mash and prawns
and Atlantic Salmon with salad greens, avocado and mash
Generous serves - super fresh fish that was cooked perfectly and veg crisp and mash beautifully creamy
and the best views
Very very reasonably priced and best to make booking as this place is very popular. I also loved that their fish /seafood was from aust waters
Can highly recommend and once meal is finished a stroll on Coogee esplanade will get rid of any extra kilos

The food at the Legion is always good, whether you're a couple or in a group. Drinks at Club prices is always a bonus.
The only downside is that there are no doors isolating it from the noise of the club, so not a good place for a romantic night out!
Avoid it on Friday nights as for some reason the management has moved the karaoke from Sunday arvo to Friday night. 8:00 is when my friends and I hightail it to another eatery rather than listen to a bunch of drunks singing bad songs badly.
