My first job in Sydney was at this joint - some 30 years ago, as entertainment manager - and I'm not sure if I'm amused or bemused by how little it's changed.
We ate at the brasserie and opted to eat in the beer-garden, oops, it was so filthy we moved back inside to the brasserie, oops...
Our table in the beer-garden was absolutely ferril! you could almost smell the fungus growing on it, it smelled like someone had relieved themselves under the table - and the puddled was gruesome. We asked the busboy if he'd mind cleaning our table, he reached into a bucket of slop, dragged out the skankiest rag I've ever seen and slopped more muck over the table, and us. KUDOS to the bar-staff, not only are they good, they're really good.
In a desperate attempt to stay outdoors, I headed to the bar and asked for a CLEAN cloth, I was handed a - just sprayed with chemical - brand new cloth (thank god for thinkers) Unfortunately, it didn't help, the table still smelt like a dying cat lived under it!
Moving back inside wasn't any better...
We ordered the seafood platter, deep-fried in old oil, soggy frozen fish and warm oysters natural (I literally spat the oyster into a napkin) As if the platter itself wasn't offensive enough, it took 45 minutes to fry, grrrrr.
If you're 19, looking to get hammered and in the process annoy those around you, this place is for you! If you're not, Coogee has a bunch of places that'll make you feel human.

Room Tip: ...if you value a sanitary environment, avoid on the weekend

Great hotel 1 minute walk to beautiful Coogee beach. Comfortable clean and bright rooms right next to the Coogee bay hotel bar however the rooms were super quiet. Staff friendly. Great seaside town!! Definitely going back . Had lunch at the hotel in the beer garden. Fantastic!!!!!!

A nice beer garden for drinks on a sunny afternoon. The food was very disappointing and basic canteen type fare. For $30 the steak came with a few leaves from a packet and a squirt of dressing. How hard is it to add a bit of tomato, cucumber or even onion! The cider bottle was $14. Other peoples food looked basic, the coleslaw was loaded with mayonnaise and pizzas looked pale. Have a drink here and eat somewhere else.

Was disappointed when I ordered a $32 over cooked salmon. Literally a piece of salmon on the smallest teaspoon size of pea mash (really how much are peas these days?!) Went back to order a garden salad, luckily the girl who takes orders deterred me from getting the slaw as I would also be disappointed.
Waited like an idiot for the garden salad while all my friends ate their very average food, for it to have been sitting at the pass for about 10 minutes with the buzzer never going off.
Bartender was good but she was one of those chicks that would keep your card and take somebody else's order, so you again wait there like and idiot, before she gave it back to you.
Court yard is nice for drinks, but I'd eat else where any day.

We purchased a Groupon deal earlier this year and it was fantastic. We would purchase it again. Such good value. Included in our package was a bottle of wine, late check out, breakfast and a voucher to use at their facilities.

The hotel itself is clean and tidy and all you need to stay a night or two. We did not hear any noise from the hotel. Parking in the hotel was easy for us although I had read it can fill up so we arrived a little early.

It's across the road from the beach with cafes and shops just outside the main entrance.
