We had a quick lunch here we ordered our meals at the bistro which is outside and there is a kids play area.
We went inside the pub to buy our drinks and walked through a resaurant then through a lounge looking room (very dark and depressing) and finally the bar.
The set up is a bit odd having to walk through the restaurant.
The drinks were expensive 1 beer and 1 wine cost 19 bucks!

The food was nice and will be back if I'm in town again.

We visited the Crown prior to attending a show on Saturday night arrived at six with no one else in the restaurant
They were previously advised that we were attending a show and that we needed a quick turnaround.
Our first course arrived in about 15_20 minutes. For the mains we ordered beef cheeks that just needed plating. 45 minutes later after three requests for service our meal arrived
This venue is opposite the performing arts centre advertises pre performance meals
It took us almost 2 hours to consume our meals
This is unexeptable

Stopped at this place for a bite to eat as we drove through Cessnock. We were surprised at how good the food was and reasonably priced. We had a couple of their salads and pizzas. Their pork belly salad was just delightful, crisp pork belly nestled among fresh salad, yum yum yum.
The outside dining area was also great and could imagine this place being a hit in summer

Had the prawn and scallop entree..1x lge prawn, 2x scallops = $28.00. Menu selection was minimal...only 4 mains to choose from.
Mains were better and beautifully cooked. Compot duck was excellent, more would have been better. We were going to share(like the entree) but not large enough serve. The same with braised beef cheek. Beautiful, but small helping. I understand sizes in upmarket restaurants is not large, so we were greatful for the plate of fries we also ordered. The service was very good, a warm atmosphere present also. There is also a bistro getting served from the same kitchen for a larger selection.
