My experience was all and more than I could have hoped for. Karen and Steve are fantastic hosts and do everything to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is amazing and the decor around this beautiful old house is very tasteful and homely. A personal interest is taken in every guest and great local knowledge helps make your time truly memorable.

Our 3-night escape to Penghana Bed and Breakfast in Queenstown, Tasmania, was a delightful experience. Karen and Steve, our gracious hosts, made our stay truly exceptional. Their generosity and meticulous attention to detail were evident in every aspect of our visit. From the personalised recommendations to the thoughtfully decorated rooms, we felt welcomed and pampered. Steve’s delicious breakfasts were a highlight, showcasing local produce. Penghana B&B, with its warm hospitality and charming ambiance, is a standout choice for those seeking a memorable getaway. Highly recommend this beautiful B & B to anyone looking for both an enriching and cozy getaway and a base for exploring neighbouring attractions on the west coast and central Tasmania.

It was an unplanned stay and they have changed my entire perspective on bed and breakfasts. From the welcome and the service provided my entire stay, to the quality of the room and the history of the home. It was absolutely magnificent! I fell in love with Queenstown due to my experience here

Thank you for your comments. Yes Queenstown is easy to 'fall in love with'. One has to look beyond some of its exterior and realise its remoteness, the attraction of that quality and its limitations. We appreciate it isn't for everyone but it has so much going for it - no humidity, affordable housing, 4 seasons, is a very safe destination, has outstanding natural beauty, an amazing history, genuine people from all walks of life, lots of business opportunities, the cleanest air and award winning tourism experiences and here at Penghana we get to meet such interesting people from all over the world and the mainland every day of the week. Yes we enjoy spoiling our guests and giving you much more than a place to stay, - an experienc.

We recently had a 3 night stay at the beautiful Penghana House. We booked the 2 bedroom self contained section of the house as this suited our needs. The room was perfect having a kitchenette and lounge dinning area which allowed us to self cater with snacks and drinks etc. We love to do that when we travel. Lots of appliances and the plunger coffee supplied in the room was a life saver at breakfast after having drained the complimentary port the night before. The property is well located to Queenstown central with a short walk to most of the attractions and shopping on offer. Our hosts Karen and Steve could not have been more friendly. Their knowledge on the history of the house and the area was unlimited. They recommended dinning venues and booked them for us as well which was great. The Empire Hotel was good but the food at the Gold Rush Inn ( Mimso Kitchen)on the edge of town was fantastic. Would recommend this stay to all.

This was a very welcome change after a series of anonymous motels. It's a high-quality place with lots of really classy touches, and the care with which the room had been prepared made it feel very welcoming - which added to the genuine welcome of the owners. It was once the "Grand House" of the area, and this shows in the quality of the house and the rooms. We were actually headed for Strahan, but got the impression that most of the accommodation there is glossy and touristy, so we decided to stay in Queenstown, and drive over to Strahan as a day-trip. We were glad we did.
