Pete is obviously very invested in making sure this place continues to get great reviews. The only bad reviews seem to be around the time of the devastating Cyclone Debbie which destroyed the area and took a long time to recover.

The good news is that is no longer an issue and they are back to great reviews.

Pros: amazing view, amazing service, good value for money

Cons: bedroom layout is a bit cramped, bed is a bit cheap but for 3 star accommodation this is all pretty standard.

The rainforest retreat had beautiful views, cozy rooms and great facilities. Awesome location, wicked communal area plus stunning indoor pool, good hammock areas for reading. Super clean, friendly and well organised. We even found just basic extra facilities very handy like blender, full kitchen and iron.
We'd like to thank owner/manager Pete who was very accomodating and friendly. Highly recommended even as a local in the area this price was a winner.

Thanks Louis for your wonderful review.I'm so pleased you enjoyed the amenities in both our Lodges as well as the Retreats Central Facility. I love greeting the many varied visitors from all around the world and enjoy hearing their fascinating experiences on their journeys to us. The central living areas of our Lodges seem to encourage our guests to share their stories with some guests from 5 years ago still Facebook friends today - Just from their meeting at our Retreat. Thanks again for your Review. We hope to see you again soon. Take care. Pete

I have been travelling for 4 months and I can easily say this is the best accommodation/experience l I’ve had by far. From the moment we arrived, Pete made us feel right at home. Such a genuine and great guy, he was so helpful when we were looking to book any day trips or activities. The resort itself is amazing and almost any room you book has an awesome view, we spotted wild kangaroos, birds, and other wildlife from our room. The location is conveniently close to everything in town. Anyone visiting the area I would highly recommend staying at Pete’s resort, you will not be disappointed. Best of all, the price is so reasonable compared to everything else in the area. This resort has any and everything you’d possibly need during your stay. Would give 10 stars if possible, cannot say enough good things about this place!

Thanks guys for your wonderful Review and Rating. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your time with us. The Lodges work so well for guests to be able to swap experiences and have a chat. Having the privacy of your own "Hotel room" as well as the added benefit of such great features in the Central Area of the Lodges really works. And the views are incredible. Glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Regards, Pete

Peter was very accommodating and helpful.
The views were amazing. It's in a good location close to town but it's very quiet. There is a great large open balcony at the back nestled amongst the trees. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Thanks Alli for your wonderful Review. I'm so pleased you loved your stay and our property. We are so lucky being perfectly positioned between the blue of the ocean and the green of the rainforest. Close to the Airlie main street but still feeling a million miles from everything. Hope to see you again up here one day. Take care. Regards, Pete
