We walked from the main street in Airlie Beach to Honeyeater Lookout (approx 10klms return from our accomm). It took us nearly 4 hours with plenty of stops for photos and rests. It was a very hot day so luckily the steep part of the walk has plenty of shade and rocks to sit on. Not much in the way of signage so we were fortunate to have a local walk past us and confirm we were on the right track! The views from the lookout were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Would recommend for anyone who doesn't mind hills. Take water and wear hat/sunscreen.

Easy walk up to the lookout areas, suitable for all fitness levels. Absolutely stunning views of Whitehaven beach at the top from two observation points. There are toilets at the top as well.

This is a great walk for anyone interested in hiking thats not to difficult but that will have you blowing a bit. The footing is very good and the gradient is fairly gradual.

We happened to be there on a day when it poured rain. However, it did not slow us down. We still had beautiful views around the beach. Be careful though, as it does pool up so some steps maybe deeper than they appear.

We did part of the Whitsunday Great Walk a couple of weeks ago when we were in the area as part of our drive around Australia. The total trail is pretty long I think 28kms or so, we may have done about 6 of those kms just to sober up a bit but the trail was great with beautiful scenery all around, lots of green space and wildlife around too which was great. We would like to do the whole thing sometime, maybe on our return in December but we will see.
