Really enjoyable day full of laughs. The staff where ace from the get go making sure everyone was comfortable making their way around the deack having one to one chats with everyone on board.
all the food for the day is included with tea, coffee fruit and cakes to start the day lunch consisted of a well stocked buffet of cold meats cheeses and salads with an afternoon tea of fruit salad and chocolate cakes. I'm gluten free and expected there not to be anything i could eat but i was plesantly suprised with the offerings and certainly didnt go hungree. There is a bar on board as well if you fancy something stronger.
First stop was Whitehaven with dingy ride over to the beach, a walk to the look out and some lovely photos at the top. they have a photographer on board who goes around with the group should you like some professional shots. Went down on to white haven beach to be greated by heeps of other tourists but i snuck away in the opposite direction. The sand is unreal kinda like cake mix its hard to describe if you havent been.An hour later back on the boat and out to langford reef for some snorkelling.
I'm not great with water and a hesitant swimmer but this wasnt a problem as the staff didnt make a fuss just guided me through what to do. (the snorkel guide Annie was great helping people who where even more nervous than myself out into the water so they didnt miss any thing) the water visibility wasnt very good and the tide was really very low so there was a last minuet change in location but that didnt stop it being a once in a life time experience. The fish are clearly very used to people being around and the selection of coral at this spot is great the photographer oes here with you too so if you dont have a gopro or camera of your own its great. It works out at such great value as you can get all of your pictures from underwater and the lookout with a dvd education video for $70 which is 30 GBP. Bargin.
The last Daydream island is a bit rubbish in comparison to the rest of the day, with all the modern stuff but i suppose its good for people that like other people and sitting around in swimming pools. there is a 'man made reef'there that after seeing the real thing is naff and upset me to see such a large shark in suck a small space. That has nothing to do with the reefstar cruise guys as its a private island.

All in al la great day well done guys i will never forget this day.

We booked this cruise through the Where? What? How? Whitsunday Travel tour booking on the main street of Airlie Beach.
The cruise cost $180per person but is well worth it
Firstly, we were collected from our place of accommodation early in the morning and taken to where we had to board to cruise ship.
From the time we boarded the Reef star ship till the time we got off we were made to feel welcomed by the friendly staff. There was no shortage of food and drinks. We had morning tea, lunch, being yummy cold salads and meats and afternoon tea of cheese platters and fruit. As it was mother's day all the mums got a glass of champagne with lunch. The cruise took us to the beautiful Whitehaven Beach, Bali Hai and Daydream Island. You could choose to snorkel or go in the glass bottom boat. Even if you have not snorkeled before, don't worry, as the crew were there to show you how to do it. I was so impressed that they took you from the boat to the shore so you didnt have to swim a huge distance and it was a great feeling knowing that if you got into any trouble the crew were right there.aftet our.dtop at Daydream Island were boarded the boat again and were greeted by freshly.made cocktails!! And to top it off we were delivered back to our place of accommodation.
I thoroughly recommend booking this cruise, i could not fault it in anyway what so ever. You will not be disappointed.

This is the only large vessel with air conditioning !!! and conventional toilets. The modern wave piercer vessel makes the trip smoothly. We have booked the 3 island tour of Bali Hai Reef, Hill Inlet (Whitehaven Beach) and Daydream Island. The bus fails to pick us up near our rental place by Shute Harbor. Fortunately we have a car and drive to the parking lot. We are glad for the a/c as it was a hot day. Coffee and tea plus fruit and raisin cake are served upon boarding. The 2 hour ride to Whitehaven goes quickly. Stinger suits are put on and we get into small boats to get to the island. This far out the stinger suits are probably not needed but the dangerous small jelly fish are expanding their area so precaution is taken. There are 2 paths--one long path to the mountain top for an overview and one to the beach. The white sand against the clear blue green water is stunning. We swim with the harmless white sharks. Next we go the Bali Hai Island where we snorkel. The fish are beautiful especially the parrot. Swarms of small yellow and blue fish surround you. The coral was bright purple, pink, yellow and blends of various types. Pictures are taken of you and you can buy a video of all the coral and fish on board. Lunch was a big selection of cold items--pastas, coleslaw, meats, chicken, corn, beets, pineapple, potato salad and on and on followed by fruit, cheese and cakes. Definitely a lot to eat. Last stop is Daydream island. Finally we see small kangaroos munching o the resort grass. There is a man-made lagoon around the resort that has several sharks, manta rays and fish. Nothing is air conditioned. We are not sure why this is a tour stop as the resort is only so-so. You are invited to swim but the sun is out in full and most are seeking shade. It's a short ride back to Shute Harbor and it's 5:30 pm. It is a well run tour and recommend it to all. A glass bottom boat is available for those who do not snorkel .

Thank you for your review. We forget how warm even our winter can seem to visitors, yes air-conditioning is a must!

You mention the "White sharks" at Whitehaven, they are Lemon shark pups, they use Hill Inlet at Whitehaven as a nursery, and as you mention are quite harmless, pups are very shy and hard to spot. Congratulations on spotting them!

We stop at Daydream to allow guests to experience a resort island. Many guests enjoy swimming in the resort pools and the opportunity to have a cocktail at the swim up bar, sheltering in the shade there. Seeing reef sharks and stingrays in the lagoon, as well as the wallabies that inhabit the island are a bonus for many guests from overseas.

Your feedback is important to us, it is the best way for us to improve our service. In the future we will provide our guests with more details on Daydream to enable them to find the air conditioned areas and activities. Thank you.

I took some interstate friends on this trip yesterday, and what a day we had.

Such a great atmosphere on the boat, with lots of happy crew who obviously love their job.

Unfortunately the visibility wasn't great, but hey thats not their fault they cant help that, but we still an awesome time snorkelling and the photos as a memory of day were great.

Thanks guys

Thank you for your review. We love it when a local joins us! So glad you enjoyed your time with us. Sorry to hear visibility was low, weather and tides will do what they will, fortunately poor conditions are not a common problem here in the Whitsundays. Should you wish to join us again, give the girls in the office a call and they will check direct with the crew what visibility is like before you book, as Bali Hai is an especially pretty spot to snorkel. Thank you again.

We were collected from our accommodation early and transferred to the boat, which was very spacious and gave you a choice of indoor our outdoor seating. There was tea, coffee biscuits and cake available all through the day. The first stop allowed snorkelling and a glass bottomed boat the second was at the amazing Whitehaven Beach and then at the end of the day time to chill out on Daydream, island. A really good mix and fabulous staff who were so informative and helpful. There is a photographer on board and he really is good capturing some fantastic shots of everyone on board II generally steer clear of those sort of things but the prices were so reasonable we ended up buying the whole package which will be a great memory of our trip. Thank you to everyone who made it a day to remember.
