Under quarantine times they were simply amazing.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 July 2021
We had to wait for results of a Covid test for 48 hours, so we were confined to our rooms. The staff were AMAZING!!!!! They provided us with options for dinner delivery. They were very efficient, under extremely unusual circumstances (42 quarantined people) and they were always bright and helpful.
Our room was a garden view room. We loved having the big sliding door to look out onto the garden and the birds. It was a big room, and we had enough room to do exercise. The bathroom had a big bench which is always a great thing. When we were allowed to leave our room after 48 hours, we used the pool, and it was very clean and comfortable sitting around on the lounges. Also when we were away for 1 night, the staff were very helpful with luggage, and welcomed us on our return. We ate in the dining room after our lockdown ended, and always had good meals.
Date of stay: June 2021
Room Tip: Garden rooms had a huge area outside. Across the road is wonderful park.Lily Creek Lagoon.

We stayed here for 3 nights. After 2 weeks on the Gibb River Rd this was absolute luxury.
Large spacious room with King size bed. Beautiful linen. Comfortable bed. Comfortable couch.
Huge bathroom which was clean (some stains on tiles from minerals in water but it was clean). Towels for the bathroom and separate towels for the pool. Thanks.
    Free laundry
    Good pub food on site
The pool is big (and it’s cold) perfect for the hot hot days.
    The staff friendly and helpful.
This resort is starting to look a little tired in places but the Kimberley is a hard place to keep things looking brand new. The grounds and the rooms are well maintained.
    Thanks for a great stay.

We had dinner on the Sports Bar on the recommendation of the receptionist at our apartment complex who told us that we would need to be patient because it was a Saturday night. We had to join the end of a long queue to place our order, but despite this our food came out surprisingly quickly. Saturday night is laksa night so we ordered a chicken laksa and a steak sandwich. The meals were really tasty and the portions were quite generous. No wonder it's so popular!

Our party of 4 dined out on four nights recently, with the experience as the Kimberly Grande "Restaurant" leaving us scratching our heads (28/03). I thought we would be entering a restaurant, but no, orders were taken over the bar next door. We were offered a table in the sports bar, but we had no desire to eat in a noisy bar environment with 6 large screen TVs. Where we ended up was the soulless space adjacent which is apparently the restaurant. Food was "ok" but expensive for "ok" and service was clunky with delivery of our mains about a minute after having the entree laid on the table. Hardly had room to fit a glass on the table with so entrees and mains all on the table at the same time. If you want a pub dinner, I think you can do better elsewhere (at least value for money). If you want a dining experience, there are two very good options not far away. My other three reviews of our dinning experiences in Kununurra that week were all wholly positive.

    Hello,

I am sorry to hear of your experience with us here at the Kimberley Grande. Pre-Covid, the Restaurant & Bar were operating as separate entities but due to a labour shortage since the beginning of the pandemic, we are operating with around 50% of our usual staffing level and have been forced to reduce our offering and run a hybrid menu and service. We anticipate that as restrictions ease and the international border reopens to backpackers, whom several industries rely on heavily in regional areas, this situation will be resolved and we can return to normal operations. I understand this can be frustrating to our visitors and guests but I assure you we are working hard to mitigate these circumstances and return to being a full service venue. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Kununurra and that we may get the chance to see you again soon.

Great family sized room which was super .... huge bathroom too

Only the sports bar was open as off season and too rainy to use the pool which looked great...

Staff friendly and sports bar offered standard pub food

Hotel is opposite the camp ground with Spilled the Beans Coffee Shop which is a lovely breakfast option

Will come again... in the dry!

Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, though no safe in the room. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, gave us a lift out to pick our hire car up in the middle of the day and let us have a late check out all at no extra charge. Drinks reasonably priced at the bar and the food quite good.
