My husband & I decided the ‘Best Of’ with Greg Smith was the only way to see Lake Argyle, Greg being the original tour operator. We are so glad we did!!
What an awesome day we had on 16/6/2019.
With bathers, towel, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, in hand we were Collected from Lake Argyle Resort Caravan Park and transported to Greg’s boat.
Fabulous wide boat, comfortable seating. The boat offering ability to move from our seats to walk around easily and to capture many many photos. Greg is a wealth of knowledge for everything about the lake, the construction, pastoral history, wildlife, crocodiles, fish species, bird watching. Once on the lake, you start to appreciate how massive it is!! The array of colours as we travelled throughout the cruise was astonishing, together with Opportunity to fossick for our very own piece of zebra rock.
Assortment of freshly made rolls, wraps, fresh local melons, tea, coffee we did not go hungry.
As sun started to set Greg ensured we stopped at the best place on the lake for a swim whilst we sipped champagne, wine, or beer with biscuits and dip whilst we enjoyed a magnificent sunset.
Returning us back to our accommodation after dusk.
We enjoyed a wonderful day.

Wow TravellingKings... thank you for taking the time to write us such an amazing review.

It was a great choice to join our Best of Lake Argyle Cruise as it is the only cruise that heads down to the south of the lake and offers such a variety in nature, landscape and wild life.

It sounds like you had an awesome day out there and we are very happy you enjoyed every single detail of the cruise. We think your photos are proof of a fabulous day.

We hope you enjoy your further travels and have a good time.

We did a sunset cruise with Lake Argyle Cruises. The whole process was simple from booking to pickups and drop offs. Our skipper Mitch did a fabulous job. He was most accommodating to everyone’s needs and particularly made a little boy feel special.
Mitch was very informative and fun to be with. He showed us rock wallabies, Wallaroos, crocodiles, we fed fish and spotted particular bird life. The drinks and nibbles at sunset were also lovely. We would recommend this cruise as must do!

Our cruise started with sightings of rock wallabies and some fresh water crocs. A short ride around the northern end of Lake Argyle and a description by Dan of how the water is used down stream. Another few stops to look at some more crock was followed up by an amazing experience of feeding Archer fish. We then went to about the mid piont of the lake where Dan gave the group a very detailed run down on the history leading up to the building of the dam. After another 10 minute we stopped to watch the sunset and the moon rise as well as having a swim on the warm waters of the lake. All this whilst enjoying a beer or wine(codials supplied for kids and designated drivers) and biscuits and dips. After dusk we cruised back to the dock. Dan was an excelent host and a wealth of knowledge and definitely has great boat skills.
I would highly recommend doing this tour.

We are retirees on an extended caravan trip. We took the sunset cruise on Lake Argyle today and we're very glad we did. Greg was a great host and very informative. The cost of the cruise was very reasonable. Water, instant coffee and tea were available throughout and beer and sparkling wine were served with nibbles when we stopped for a swim at sunset. Simply Great

Hi John,

Thanks for your review!! Greg has been doing this for many years and you can still see his passion for the lake.
Its hard to imagine just how beautiful this man made lake is without getting on the water.

Safe travels and hope to see you again in the future.

The Lake Argyle Cruise Team.
