Travelling by yourself, with your love one, with your family, with your mates, with anyone one you want to make an impression on, this is money well spent on a memorable cruise experience.
If you are anywhere in a 100km radius and you are undecided whether to do this, just scan through these reviews and you will see that Lake Argyle Cruises is a MUST DO for anyone travelling or living in the area. A MUST DO!
Skipper Greg and co are the longest established out of the other cruise providers and when you are on the boat you will realise why. His wealth of knowledge on the history of the Dam, the lake and the cattle stations in the area are presented well during the relative spots of the cruise. He is also very entertaining with his narration of wildlife which is a mix of both fact and dry humour. He won't really feed your kids to the crocs.....I don't think :)
Bring an waterproof camera/phone if you have one.
Sunnies and sunscreen a must
Great for photographers, videographers and droners
Non-swimmers may regret not getting into the water once they get there. Just bring a towel and cozzie in the event that you will change your mind. Floating noodles are a plenty and the step ladder makes it easy to get in and out.
For under $100 we got a plethora of memories. Here are some of mine...
Wind in my hair as we sped around the lake
The lesson on board the Silver Cobbler
A glimpse of a house boat that I wish I owed
Vain wildlife that love to be photographed by visitors
An even vainer crocodile that is constantly smiling for the cameras
Feeding cute little archer fishes only to have it spit in my eye....young fish these days! (Well, I have had worse in my eye).
The stunning reflections of landscape and trees on the mirror like water
Cooling down in the water as I float with a noodle between my legs, champagne in one hand and a cracker in the other.
Jumping of the boat and watching all below squint their eyes in anticipation as I bomb into the water
The cruise back at nearly nightfall feeling the buzz in the air, new knowledge in my brain, the weight off my wet shoulders and the zest of life back in my lungs.
Ones, I will have for life and hopefully collect a sequel of them when I bring the in-laws because this needs to be shared with everyone I know.
Thanks to Greg and the Lake Argyle Cruise Team.
And thanks to anyone reading this.....I hope it was helpful and wishing you too a lake full of memories.
