“Beautiful B&B in a Beautiful Spot”

We stayed at The Old Joinery for one night in mid-September while visiting family in nearby Calne. We were very warmly welcomed by Nicola and Paul, who have created a beautiful B&B. The guest rooms are in a separate building (formerly a joinery), which is set back from the road in relation to the main house. Although the main road can be busy, the old joinery is set back enough that you aren’t really aware of traffic.
From the moment you step inside, the quality of the materials and workmanship that went into the restoration of the building is apparent, and everything is very tasteful and immaculate. The beds are very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep, which was much appreciated because we’d had a busy day and had not slept properly on the plane the night before.
Breakfast is served at the back of the main house with a beautiful view of the hills, and with the Cherhill white horse to one side. We had a delicious breakfast with lots of choice, including vegetarian ‘sausages’.
You only have to walk up the road for a few minutes (there is a sidewalk on one side) to reach a public footpath which takes you right up onto the hill to the white horse. Even if you don’t have much time to spare, this doesn’t take very long, gives you a chance to stretch your legs, and provides excellent views of the rolling north Wiltshire countryside.
We can highly recommend the Old Joinery in every way – a beautiful B&B in a beautiful spot and warm and welcoming hosts. We were sorry we had only planned to stay one night and look forward to returning at some point.

“Superb B&B”
Reviewed 26 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

The B&B accommodation is in an old joinery shop that has been fully converted to modern standards. Very high standard of furniture and furnishings and exceptional service. The house holds a number of awards, including one for their breakfasts, which set you up for the day.
Unreservedly recommended!

“Top notch”
Reviewed 20 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We stopped off on our way to Wales. Nicola and Paul were extremely welcoming. Our room was so luxurious, spotlessly cleaned and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Black Horse just across the road. Breakfast was delicious. We continued onto Wales but none of the other b and b's we stayed at were anywhere near as good as this. We will definitely be back.

“Perfect stay.”
Reviewed 17 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

My mum and I were taking part in a sponsored walk on Sunday and needed a early check out and breakfast. Nicola was very accomodating. We had the warmest welcome. The room was finished to the highest standard and was very clean. Had a brilliant sleep. I would recommend this too everyone who likes luxury with top class service and hospitality. I will be taking my partner there in the future.

“Absolutely gorgeous B&B”
Reviewed 18 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

You really couldn't wish for a lovelier place to stay or a kinder, more thoughtful owner. My friends and I took over the whole place (3 rooms) and everything was perfect: beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts and a great location within easy driving distance to (amongst other places) Stonehenge, Avebury and Marlborough. It's all down to Nicola and her family's fabulous hospitality, who make you feel like you are staying in a home from home. I really can't recommend it highly enough and I will definitely be back!
