Description: Dine under the stars in the tranquil surroundings of TOP DIDJ GROUNDS Watch the wallabies and hear the local wildlife in the surroundings reminiscent of an outback stockman's camp. In this wonderful atmosphere, enjoy your award winning camp oven meal by the camp fire, with Aborigine bush tucker flavours. This year, is a tribute to all Station Cooks- Past, present and future, and step back 100 years to a traditional Stockmans Camp for a Traditional Stew and Flash Damper and Billy Tea, polished off with Gem scones, native jam and fresh cream. Be entertained by great Aussie humour, true and not so true yarns, the good, the bad & some a little bawdy. Billy spinning competition for little and the grown up kids. Some diets can be catered, if booked in advance. We cook to bookings, so phone first. Open April until October each year, though restricted to Thursday and Saturday nights with Pandemic in Australia. BYO Alcohol.

Wow. What a great setting for an evening of great tales and camp tucker. The authentic setting ,sitting watching the billy boil and smelling the aromas of the beef stew which had been simmering all day was tantalising. Marksie made you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until it is time to leave (one more story for the road). His Aussie yarns of a Stockman's life were enthralling and hilarious. His team (Penny and 2 high school girls) helped make the night run like clockwork. The damper ..yum . The beef stew ... melted in your mouth . The scones .. to die for. I even got a certificate for spinning the billy without dropping it. Did not want the night to end . Would recommend it a a must to on your trip.

Marksie is a lovely chap with some great stories. The stew is delicious, as is the damper. The scones are wonderful with a great billy tea to finish off.

Thank you very much for your great review. Glad you enjoyed your night with us. Our stew is no ordinary stew with 12 different native bush herbs, spices, fruits and foods to ensure your taste buds are tantalised. The native rainforest plum jam on the scones is just the very best flavour. Cheers.

Marksie and Penny took us and other guests on a "journey" to a "1919 stockman's dinner night" with great yarns along the way told by Marksie. The food was great and the whole night was very educational and a true insight of how things were done back in the day. It has been a long time my wife and I had a good belly laugh. Thanks for the experience and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the billy spinning and "certificate" she received. Also had a change to meet a beautiful wallaby and her Joey.
