Description: Dine under the stars in the tranquil surroundings of TOP DIDJ GROUNDS Watch the wallabies and hear the local wildlife in the surroundings reminiscent of an outback stockman's camp. In this wonderful atmosphere, enjoy your award winning camp oven meal by the camp fire, with Aborigine bush tucker flavours. This year, is a tribute to all Station Cooks- Past, present and future, and step back 100 years to a traditional Stockmans Camp for a Traditional Stew and Flash Damper and Billy Tea, polished off with Gem scones, native jam and fresh cream. Be entertained by great Aussie humour, true and not so true yarns, the good, the bad & some a little bawdy. Billy spinning competition for little and the grown up kids. Some diets can be catered, if booked in advance. We cook to bookings, so phone first. Open April until October each year, though restricted to Thursday and Saturday nights with Pandemic in Australia. BYO Alcohol.

We had a fantastic evening at Marksies. The food, the yarns, the service and his knowledge was well worth it. He explained where all the ingredients came from and how he mixed them into what he was presenting for us. He explained how difficult it was to get hold of the information from the indigenous people to be even able to put this all together which was fascinating. We purchased some of the ingredients he had used in the meals and have since added them to our meat and fish with amazing results. This is a must do experience.

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time out to give us this awesome review...will have to put it on our website. It is a privilege to pass on the tips the group of very special Indigenous Ladies showed me, and to showcase our native bush herbs, spices, fruits and foods. I'm glad you were able to try out some of our suggestions. Hope you got the hat we sent back. Wonderful night, and great to have your company. Cheers.

Great food. Great company... and great story telling!! Would thoroughly recommend this experience with Marksie and his team, especially with Matksie out front giving us great yarns while dinner is served in rustic outback style. Marksie has a deep understanding and respect for the aboriginal people which is shown in the passion he uses in the story's he tells about them... and the food was delish!

The atmosphere was great sitting in the open watching your tea being cooked on the embers of the fire and the yarns that come made the night very enjoyable.
Would highly recommend this , does not look much but you get a lot out of it.
Thank you Mark for a great night.

Thank you Kay, glad you enjoyed the night and especially not having to slave over the fires yourself this time! It is a great way to cook and you can't beat a meal cooked on hot coals, as it does bring out the flavours and with that bush herbs and spices ...just tops it off. Thanks a heap for taking the time to review us. Cheers.

Incredible 4 course meal, made special and unique by the explanation of where all the ingredients were sourced and topped off with the remarkable service.

Marksie gets to know his guests and introduces all to each other. He explains how he got into this work and how he has developed it into todays "show" with the help of indigenous women. The result is a beautiful meal of several little bites and at the end you're full! Very entertaining guy with a loyal staff around him.
