This tour was 14 hours long and covered approx 600 km. We spent 15 mins for an early coffee break, 25 min at an aboriginal center, 2 hours on the yellow river, 45 mins looking at aboriginal paintings and 1 hour for lunch for a total of 4 hours and 25 minutes. The rest of the time was spent riding on the bus. This tour is not worth the money or the time spend your money elsewhere.

Kate was our driver and guide on our 3 day tour of Litchfield and Kakadu and she was great. She was endlessly cheerful, patient, friendly, informative, and fun. She's also a really good cook!

We have had a wonderful tour! With a really nice guide, Matt, who had a big sense of humor and was a very friendly guy! We loved his timing, because he brought us to JimJim falls, where we were the only ones there! We had a wonderful night in our tent, and even saw the Milky Way for the first time in our life!

I could write a lot more... but to summarize it... this trip was perfect!

We did the 6 day 5 night walking tour of Kakadu which incorporated the majority of the must-do sights of Kakadu. Only 8 of us on the bus, so plenty of room and really great, knowledgeable guides who knew their stuff. Although we walked and swam each day, I'm sure we put on weight with the excellent fare provided from the camp kitchens at the end of each day. Our tour included the Padakul cultural tour which has it's own page, but well worth searching out even if you don't have the time for a 6 day adventure. Also a Yellow River boat tour. Walking is a great way to experience the beauty of this place and discover many quiet waterholes which are cooling after a hot walk, but safe from the crocs. The camps were already set-up with tents and comfortable swags on stretchers, plus the convenience of hot showers and flushing loos !

We are a 55/75 yr old couple doing it all NOW. We'd initially wondered if an active 2 day camp to Kakadu would be beyond our capabilities but found it very doable for those with a basic level of fitness. Rich, our guide was solicitous and informative, having vast knowledge of the area, flora, fauna and indigenous cultures. Whilst visiting all the 'sights' he made sure our group was the only one there so we could fully appreciate 'solitude'. A highlight was the truck breaking down and having to be rescued by indigenous men who towed us to the nearer campsite where we were treated by the company to a superb meal among the sights and sounds of the remote NT life including cane toads the size of small dogs in the washrooms! We were relieved to find full mattress comfy beds in our permanent tents surrounded at night by howling dingos and raucous birds. Swimming in the waterfalls was incredible and a treat after the hot dry 3km walk across rough terrain. This trip was simply unmissable.

Unfortunately our experience on this tour was not a positive one. Our bus was the second of two 50 seater AAT Kings buses doing the same itinerary. This meant that 100 people arrived at each destination at the one time, resulting in long wait times and a very rushed experience. This was compounded by the fact that we were at the back of our bus which meant we were last to exit the bus and were at the end of all the queues. This meant we were extremely rushed at every stop. Examples of this include:
A very limited time to eat lunch (only 10 minutes - totally unsatisfactory - especially with young children)
We were told that we only had time to explore part of the Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie if we ran it (with 10 minutes). Again totally unsatisfactory especially with young children
No time was allowed to explore Yellow Water Billabong (except for the organized time on the tour). There was a beautiful boardwalk available. We were hoping that at least 5-10 minutes to explore this would've been possible.
Inadequate time allowed to experience the Warradjan Cultural Centre - we simply did not have enough time to read & look at information available at this centre.

This was our families one opportunity to visit Kakadu National Park and we decided to book with AAT Kings to ensure a fulfilling and memorable experience. With both a significant financial investment, but more importantly, a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience one of Australia's moist iconic National Parks, we have been left left terribly disappointed.

We provided this feedback to AAT Kings and they refused to provide part or full refund and took no responsibility for our tour expereince

What awesome trip! My wife and I went on a three day group tour in a 4 wheel drive bus. Saw some beautiful sites, far better than I was expecting. Both the scenery and the distances between sites was impactful . Would highly recommend it as well as Leitchfield Park.
