We booked online the night before arrival, all we received was a confirmation email (in Spanish) that the place was available. No directions or contact number. In the second mail we received a tel. number. I confirmed our arrival at around 5PM I called the number when we were near to get further directions, but did not get an answer, so the search was on. The place is in a very rural location outside of Canamero, and we were not able to find it, no signs, no address, no one answering the phone.... Some locals were very helpful, we were offered coffee and some called around to find the place. In the end the very friendly locals suggested we would try another place, called the Alberguetta (little hotel), for which there were signs. You have to travel down a very rocky dirt road for 1800 meters, turning left coming out of Canamero. It consists of a larger converted barn with a couple of apartments. Lo and behold, one was called Yerbabuena, written on a small plaque above the door. Other people staying in one of the apartments had another number to call and we got in contact with the owner. He said Felice had waited for us in the apartment, but we had not shown up in time (haha) so she had left. She came back to let us in, and to our relieve it had all been worth it. It turned out Felice did not have a signal on her phone being out in the middle of nowhere.... We stayed 2 days, also because you cannot book for just 1 night. There was no food in the place, and I mean nothing at all. It was a holiday weekend so all shops were closed and we ended up buying some juice and wine in a local bar. In the apartment is a traditional "mokka" coffee maker, but no a grain of coffee or sugar, so be sure to bring your own food and drink!
