“A delightful holiday cottage”
Reviewed 30 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We booked the cottage without any problems and were able to contact the owner when needed.
The property was perfect for us, well appointed, quiet location with safe outdoor space for children to play.
We particularly enjoyed the beaches with many rock pools to explore. There are also several play parks in the area.
We enjoyed the views from the cottage, the garden and wild life. The homemade cake on arrival was much appreciated.

“Well equipped property, but difficult to find”
Reviewed 21 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Quiet rural location with pleasant sheltered area for sitting outside. Extremely well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, soft towels. Well stocked in basics, from milk, tea and coffee to loo rolls, liquid soap etc.
One major drawback - finding the place! There is a sign at the drive end but it is parallel to the road, not at right angles, and hidden by trees. No mobile reception, so unable to phone for directions. An OS grid reference would have solved the problem.
In the second bedroom, one had to move one of the beds to get to the wardrobe, so not ideal, especially if two were sharing.

Liked best: The ability to sit outside and enjoy sunshine and birdsong
Liked least: The noise factor from the wooden flooring in the hall when folk used bathroom at night

“Lovely cottage in beautiful setting”
Reviewed 15 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old converted railway station with beautiful wee garden, full of peonies and clematis. The cat loved being remote from any other pets and there was even a catflap for her. In terms of facilities and equipment, we wanted for nothing. What a beautiful part of the country the Machars peninsula is - with quite roads ideal for cycling - with the Galloway arboretum and Rigg Bay beach within easy walking distance.

“Excellent”

We had a lovely stay in this well fitted cottage. Two dogs were made most welcome and had a great time. Loads of space to run around. Facilities very good. Central for sightseeing

“Lovely relaxing break”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We've just returned from a lovely short break at The Station House. The accommodation was clean and well equipped with lovely open views across fields. It was ideally placed for trips out to local villages, harbours and coastal walks. Finding milk in the fridge, tea bags in the jar, fresh flowers in the lounge and some home baking in a tin in the kitchen, were special touches that show the owners want their visitors to feel welcome. We'd definitely stay here again!!!
