“The kids loved the pool”
Reviewed 12 February 2016 for a stay in July 2015

The cottage was lovely, garden good for the kids playing and the pool was far warmer than expected. The boys wanted to keep the caretaker's dog with which the feed the chickens anc the ducks. The stove was an issue for us we had to BBC and use the oven function of the microwave. We left some items behind and the called us with in an hour so we could come to get them.

Management Response

The pool is usually heated to around 26 degrees in summer depending on the weather, it can get up to 29/30 under the solar cover. We try to open the pool in late April/early May and keep it heated until after Autumn half term.

A BBQ is fine in the summer but you will be pleased to hear we now have a large electric range stove so fully controllable. Although our regular guests were sad to see the Rayburn go everyone is delighted with the shiny new cooker. It has 5 ceramic hotplates, and 3 ovens including a baking oven, roasting oven and grill and it blends in perfectly in the cottage kitchen.

A very quiet more eco friendly boiler has been installed for lashings of lovely hot water and the underfloor heating in winter.

Our Jack russell is still helping us feed the chickens and ducks. He is a remarkably gentle and friendly little terrier who loves being fussed over especially by children. We are very lucky to have such an amazing rescue dog.

Spent a wonderful 4 nights at Pavilion Cottage with only the sound of the birds for company. Very relaxing, fantastic gardens and a different walk for every day of our holiday. My husband enjoyed his dips in the pool and our dogs never tired of a game of football in the garden. Very seldom saw another soul on the beach and the sun shone every day for us. We were very sorry to leave but will return. Thank you Alex for the fresh eggs for breakfast.
