Where to begin? Had so many wonderful adventures with Johan and his team! Everything was such an extraordinary experience. First night we flew along the icy landscapes blanketed with pure snow in a sled pulled by Johan's snow mobile to chase the northern lights, and then had hot wine sitting in a snow ditch. Went snowmobiling, and husky-sledding in full snow gear on subsequent days, which I can only say was life-changing: feeding reindeers, having mushroom soup in -24 degrees, having your own team of dogs pull you through unforgettable snowy scenery. After the day's adventure, it was also great to lounge in the main guesthouse with cookies and hot cocoa and chat with the other guests in a cozy dining room while dinner is being prepared, or to luxuriate with a beer in a traditional wood-fired sauna amidst piles of snow. Plenty of whisky to warm you up too. This is really a must-try experience, something I'll remember always.

I´m so glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Not sure if you would recognize the surronding today when we have summer and all the snow has melted away and white has turned into green :-)! In our region we have really distinct seasons and this is one of the reasons I love living far up North.
Hope our roads cross again and have a great summer.
Please stay in touch,
BR, Johan

My husband and I returned last week from the most amazingly wonderful experience. There is so much to say about this place, but in a nutshell.... Lapland guest house is a small family run business - it's unique in so many ways and the owners plan to keep it that way. Kangos is a beautiful small village on the edge of the wilderness which we explored in very small groups with very experienced friendly knowledgeable guides. Snowmobiles are a thrilling experience and gratifyingly pushed us out of our comfort zones to become an exhilarating adventure. Eating lunch around a campfire and feeding the reindeer. Sledging across frozen lakes in the twilight with our own team of Huskies - one of the most awesome, surreal experiences of our lives. Chasing the Northern Lights at midnight with our adventurous guide made our holiday complete - we would change nothing, remember everything and return again! Thank you to all the staff who made us feel like we belonged, we miss you all and will return. X

We stayed in the very comfortable Viking cabin (2 adults and 2 kids). We are very well travelled but Johan and his team took service to the next level. We stayed for 4 nights and like everyone wanted to see the Northern Lights (its not as common to see them as you think) but Johan went the extra mile (or in his case the extra 10kms and extra 2 hours) to ensure we saw them. He knew the conditions were right and his determination not to give up was brilliant.

It’s more than a Northern Lights experience; the activities are exceptional from snowmobiling to feed reindeers, outdoor lunches, husky sledding and our favourite the snow showing. It’s a magical place.

You came back each evening to a newly made (real) sauna and hot tub under the stars; a surreal experience in minus temperatures.

Dinners were leisurely affairs shared with your fellow guests - like a small safari lodge experience. You felt you had known the guests for ages by the end of the holiday. The food was all home cooked, locally inspired and really tasty.

The best part though was the conversation with Johan and his team about life in Lapland, Sweden and generally. An exceptionally relaxing experience.

We and the kids also really enjoyed the new blacksmithing forge just opened with instruction by Mia - perhaps not very Swedish but a brilliant family experience.

You should go visit the Guesthouse; there are not many places like this in an increasingly homogenised world. Do it whilst you can!

Highly recommend this guesthouse. Johan and his team made a great holiday into a fabulous holiday.
Lots of activities to choose from. All outdoor clothing provided so didn't feel the -20 C temp. And all indoors is a lovely +20 C temp.
In my 7 night trip i Visited ice hotel, went on snow mobile, fed Reindeer, made things with the on site blacksmith, drove a quad car on ice track, met huskeys and drove my own team, ice fishing, and lively walks in beautiful scenery. Stunning lighting for photos.

Highly recommended.
Thank you Johan and your team.

This was a trip like no other, one that felt like visiting family and escaping reality.

We were met at the airport by the son of the owner who was very friendly and we were lucky enough on our trip to the guesthouse to see the northern lights which Elias found a dark parking area for us to see them.

We were guests for 4 nights and experienced husky sledding, snow mobile riding, reindeer, the northern lights, great food, great company from both staff and like minded guests and our Wedding across the boarder in the snow village.

We truly felt at home and relaxed more than any trip that has come before it and are already plotting a return visit to the Lapland Guesthouse to visit Johan, Mia, Elias, Albin and the team.

Hope to see you all soon, Stuart and Annie.

Hello my friends!

It was truly great taking part of your big day - getting married in Snowvillage and everything around your marriage. The stay was too short though and we miss all the laughs and nice evening together.
We wish all the best luck on your new path together and we stay in touch. Think we will meet again :-)!

Lots of hugs from all of us,

BR, Johan
