Owner description: Visit the home of New Zealand's best loved peanut butter. Smell our freshly roasted nuts as they tumble out of the roaster and make their way to The Peanut Squasher. See Pic's squirting into a jar that wends its way along rattling conveyors to the capping machine s that automatically place and tighten Pic's famous star lids, to the labeller, a hi tech licker and placer that wraps the brown paper label around the jarj. Watch as our team of white clad peanut butter makers tweak and nurse the gleaming stainless machines into making the world's finest peanut butter , load it into boxes, then wrap it on to pallets to be sent around NZ and around the world. And there's a very good cafe right next door. Tours are at 10.00 workdays (more during school holidays), but the factory shop is open 9.00 to 5.00, and we are always happy to talk peanuts.

This free tour of Pics is a Must Do in Nelson. We booked which is a good idea. The team were so enthusiastic and welcoming. They really gave the impression they loved working for Pics and they loved their jobs. The tour of the factory was good although I would have liked a loud speaker system by the windows as we could not hear all the answers to the questions and also what they guide was saying. However, we do not think we missed out on too much information.
The making of the peanut butter and the sampling afterwards was also excellent, plus the video of the journey by Pic himself.
A really great experience and we cannot thank the Pics team enough.

Fun, small group. Great to see how Pic's peanut butter originated from
such a simple idea ......... Good to know that every jar we buy is also helping a charity. Good on Pic for such a fantastic company.
But, we didn't think that the guide talking politics should be bought into a factory tour - not appropriate at all to be talking re low minimum wage levels etc in NZ.

Great free tour of factory and informative talk about Pics history and future plans. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who likes peanut butter. Make sure you book as very popular with locals and visitors. Had a four year old with me and he enjoyed it, just found the factory a little bit noisy.

I’ve been a fanatic Pics fan for ages, now I know why it’s so yummy. Turns out Pics puts around 500 delicious peanuts in every single jar. (My husband actually guessed this number and won a Pics red star pin!!) The tour was fun and informative, and the guides super-friendly.
