A beautiful walk through lovely gardens. Very relaxing. You can take as little or as long as you like. Would’ve loved to have had our daughter with us as she would have loved it. Finished nicely with a drink at the cafe and wander through the art gallery.

Very beautiful and peaceful gardens. Great spot to see/feed ducks and eels. Lots of shady spots to sit to escape sun on a hot day.

These gardens are a quiet place to reflect and are close to the riverside walk. Only a block or so from the main shopping areas

In a week in Nelson, I walked in the Queen's Gardens on four different days. See the palm trees, rose gardens, fountain, lake with ducks, and specimen trees. There are picnic tables near the small lake for lunch, and there are benches surrounding the center rose garden. It took four visits before I noticed the Chinese garden in the northeast corner of the gardens; don't miss it. The café in the Suter Art Gallery overlooks a part of the gallery and is a good place for a snack. The gardens are well maintained and worth a walk when you're in town. They're nothing on the scale or impressiveness of the botanical gardens in Wellington or Hamilton, but they are quite nice for a smaller city.

We were staying close by so walked through these gardens multiple times, seeing something new each time. There are some wonderful native and exotic (ie European) trees, mostly planted in the late 1800s. The whole garden has a feel of a first rate Victorian public garden. Huge congratulations to the gardening team who look after it so well.
