No accommodation in Picton so had to drive to Nelson. Very obliging hosts, and excellent information on the area. Extremely clean room and bathroom. Would stay again if in the area. Did not find it hot or noisy as in other reviews.

Room Tip: Do not think there would be much difference.

We were put in an upstairs room that was very clean and tidy, if very small and cramped. We had trouble finding a place to put our suitcases and there was nowhere to sit and eat a meal, apart from the bed.

The night we were there, it was quite noisy with the Turf Hotel opposite us over the road and revelry carrying on till after 1:00am which was a bit annoying.

We found the bed a little firm for our tastes, so didn't have as restful a sleep as we had hoped, but then it can be difficult to please everyone when it comes to bed comfort.

We read in the compendium that during a stay all tea, coffee and sugar supplies would be replenished but that didn't seem to be the case during our two night stay, although the bed was remade and towels replaced.

Thank you for your review. We offer a range of unit types and sizes and these are priced accordingly. Guests decide on the room type/size when they book. Although the room you chose was compact it did have two chairs and a breakfast bar. We try hard to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and encourage them to let us know if they have any concerns as these are often easily addressed at the time. This is considered a very quiet motel. On a Saturday night the hotel often has a band but this can only be heard, occasionally, in one unit and, unfortunately, it was yours..

Dont get me started on the lack of cooking facilities

Room Tip: you will have to eat out

It was an unusually hot December and we are progressively installing AC in all rooms - perhaps it was unfortunate that your room was not considered a priority at that time. All rooms have kitchenettes which include microwave, electric jug, toaster, bench top/sink and some have hot plates. Portable cooking appliances such as hot plates, electric fry pans and bench top ovens are available on request. These are quite sufficient for the majority of people and this is information that is well displayed on all web sites.

Recently stayed at this motel for 10 nights. In all my years of travelling in NZ and overseas this has got to be the best accommodation I've had the pleasure of staying in. Friendliest owners, cleanest rooms ever and the quietest location and all being in the midst of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars and takeaways. Perfect location. We will be back!

I stayed one night at the Boutique Motel in Stoke while I attended a conference. I can't fault anything about it - from the appearance, to cleanliness to the amenities in the room. It's excellent value for money and conveniently located.
