Paid a $100 deposit on my first visit and $1 deposit on second visit as the hotel seems to have difficulty returning my deposit. After a month they have now kept and effectively stolen my $101 deposit with zero intent on ever returning funds. Scammers, do not go here

We stayed here on arrival and departure from our NZ holiday. Shockingly bad stay. The first night, our TV kept switching itself on all night. Apparently, they had upgraded their chrome system, and it was causing problems. Shame they didn't think to warn us. The room was also icy cold. On our return visit, we were assured these problems were a one-off. Sadly not. Again, our room was icy cold. This time they admitted they had a known problem with their air con system and had no plans to fix it. The best they could do was give us a heater. Heaters dry out the air in a room and can cause bacteria, as can a dodgy air con. I raised all of this with the local manager and the next one up. They don't care. They've had their money and are no longer interested. The girl on reception was super smug when I was talking to her. Christchurch airport is no better. The back entrance to the hotel is left unlocked and isn't guarded. We were accosted by a man begging for money. He said he'd just been released from the prison up the road. It was a scary situation. My sister ended up giving him money. We spoke to the manager about this. Again, not interested in our concerns. This man could easily have walked into the back of the hotel and followed people to their room. I would never book a Sudima again.

Not a place I would stay again.
Check in my great but that's where the fun ended.
When things go wrong I found there were more excuses then solutions.
I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for dinner. It is over priced and low quality.
I did complain by email but as of now I haven't had a reply. And as I see from other negative reviews the replies look pretty generic.
As we use airport hotels every fortnight we won't be back here again.

Good location, parking and friendly staff.
Anything else that may have been positive was overshadowed by the room air conditioning not working and the room being a consistent 22 to 22.5 degrees despite the wall panel being set to 19 degrees and resetting it. Asked to move room to one with a working air conditioning unit but had the same problem. A hotel should not be advertised as having air conditioning if it clearly does not.
Some of the TV channels did not work and you would expect more from a hotel of this calibre with less channels available than the standard freeview package. No sports channel. The built in Chromecast did not work either.
The beds were very hard but more from the style of bed so if you like soft or medium beds this is not the hotel for you.

Thinking of Sudima Hotel near Auckland airport, being convenient as it's close to the airport. This was to be easier for my family members, initially I had communicated through various emails to ensure that the prepaid accommodation and breakfast was taken care of.
When my family member went to reception to ask about breakfast, he was refused and told to pay, he left. The time I spent ensuring that my family members were comfortable that was embarrassing as I already had said it was all paid for.
After many emails, there is no redeeming of the $37 breakfast, staff members are not thorough in the proceedings of checking records with authorisation form attached to the room as I was told originally.
I won't use this hotel in future. They don't care...
