Not a very quiet place to stay

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Feb 2019via mobile
Our family stayed here for 3 nights, cabin was pretty well looked after however we were kept up most of the night with a barking dog right behind us that continued barking during the day and lots of loud banging coming from the roof of the cabin. A bit disappointing when we all came here to relax that’s all

We took one of the few van sites and were very hap;py with the location in the heart of town, an easy walk everywhere. The koalas in the trees around us were a plus. Facilities were a little dated, but very clean.

We stayed in a standard cabin for 3 nights. It had been refurbished and was very clean. It was very good value for money. Location of the park is great as very close to beach, wharf and eating places. Staff friendly. Usually being caravaners it was great to see well maintained sites and surrounds. Nice BBQ areas, playground etc. Suitable for all ages.

Great park. Though small area for vans there were a dozen or so sites. We fitted in easy. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Good size camp kitchen with everything in it you need. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable

Although we were allocated one of the older cabins, the facility was clean and tidy. The location is perfect being only a couple of blocks from the foreshore. The communal toilet blocks were clean and close to all sites.

Booked accommodation through an online site and paid for our cabin a couple of days prior to arrival. When we checked in, was told that on their end of the computer they couldn't see that accommodation was for two adults and two children, so it was a total of $40 extra for the kids. This was reduced to an extra $20 for "goodwill". Coincidentally, another family stayed at the same time we did and was told the exact same thing and extra money was needed to be paid.
Cabin was dirty with holes in the lino (trip hazard), rusty shower rail, chips out kitchen laminate, black marks on lino and stains on main bedroom wall from something that had run down.
My advice is to look elsewhere - for a total of $150 I am sure there is much nicer accommodation in Portland.
