What a stunning location! This campsite is next to none, by far the best we had during our travels around NZ. The place is immaculate, all facilities are great, there's even a pizza oven which we used. Didn't have time to do the glow worm walks which was disappointing but just means I'll have to return one day! The lady running the place was so friendly and helped us out with every need. Unfortunately at the time there was no wifi as someone had stolen the satellite but that should be rectified by now. Best place!

Room Tip: The retro camper van is the coolest!

Gotta say, out of all the paid campsites around the south island, this takes the cake for cleanliness. Showers and toilets were spotless. The campsites were very well arranged with power - ours even had water. The overall landscaping is fantastic with plenty of things to check out. They have a full-on-NZ-bush-forest walk to a waterfall which allows your really explore the forest. And I don't mean they have a wooden walkway with lights, a coffee shop halfway and a gift shop at the waterfall. No, this is a very subtle path through nature. It allows you to get a taste of trekking without being a full pro-trekker! They even have glow worms 10min from the camp - just hanging out in the wild. It's a little more adventurous to get there in the dark (you need a red light) but a cool reward when you make it.

Overall this park may be a tiny bit pricier than most, but I think it's worth it.

Things of note - we couldn't get mobile reception as they are out of range. You need to drive back 10min to Inchbonnie and hang out on the side of the road to get reception. Otherwise you can buy a wifi-pass for I think it was $6. We didn't end up doing this but saw people face-timing so it seems to be quite good.

The views of the mountains is nice and make a great stop before or after Arthur's Pass depending which direction you're going.

We stayed 3 nights at this nice holiday park in one of the covered tent-sites. As it rained heavily for two nights, we were very happy with this innovative - and yet simple - solution. The facilities are very clean, the kitchen area is very luxurious and well equipped. Cleaning starts at 10 AM sharp! The surroundings and views are nice. There are no shops nearby, so get your groceries while you are still on the road. The owner has some basic products if you run out of food. And beware of those brown chick-like birds: they will steal anything in a plastic bag. Food, bread, shampoo! We had a nice time here and met some nice people.

Fantastic place to stay, great facilities and beautiful location. Amenities first class and good walking tracks around the property. This was my third visit to Jacksons and it did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling over Arthur's Pass as a must see overnight - or more stop.

Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, location was beautiful, facilities were excellent especially the showers, and we had a great experience overall. A real retreat. Loved our stay in the kiwi cabin and would have loved to have stayed longer. Kitchen and lounge were spacious, very clean and fantastic and there was everything you needed for a perfect stay, even fresh eggs, bread and free vegetables. The owners take great pride in their site and it was a pleasure to stay here. Thank you so much.
