Great apartment. Great location.
Two flights of stairs from car park to apartment so could be hard for some. Otherwise can’t fault it.
We stayed with another couple and this apartment was perfect for that purpose with 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The apartment has a large covered verandah with a barbecue. Kitchen facilities were good although there could have been more water glasses. It is a very central location - one street behind the shops - and was very quiet. There are lots of excellent places to eat within walking distance.
There are two negatives about staying here. Firstly, there was no internet connection and secondly the owners insistence that the dishwasher was empty and the floors swept before we left. The rental includes a charge for cleaning so emptying the dishwasher, which takes over an hour for each cycle, meant you need to be an early riser to achieve this before checkout at 10 am.
Otherwise it was a very positive stay.
This is a lovely spacious, well equipped apartment, very close to the town centre, there is a great large verandah with a barbecue which we used several times.
A couple of points to note however, there are a lot of stairs up from the car park, if one is less than sprightly it can be a struggle to get your luggage up to the apartment and secondly there is no WiFi, almost as necessary as a kettle these days, we had to go to the tourist information centre or Woolworths to check our email etc.
All in all we had a lovely stay, we went on a wine tasting afternoon, drove to see the Rays and had a day on the beach.
We booked this accommodation for a week's stay over New Year's. We were pleased as soon as we walked in the door. Very clean and updated. Undercover parking was a bonus as well. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms with skylights. Washer/dryer in the unit as well, which is very convenient. The large balcony with a BBQ grill was lovely to relax and enjoy a little reading time. The only negative was the noise, however, we were there over NYE, so we did not expect total peace and quiet due to the location. I still give it 5 stars.
Located one block off the main street, it was convenient to shops and restaurants, which you can walk to easily. A 10 minute drive to the beach and very close to the vineyards. Walking distance to the bicycle rental, where you can rent bikes for ½ or full day and ride on a variety of trails. We chose to ride out to the coast for a coffee at White Elephant Cafe, and were rewarded with beautiful scenery and nice trails along the way.
We also booked a Discovery Tour one day with a variety of activities including canoeing along the Margaret River, wine tasting and light lunch, a 4 wheel drive experience out to the coast where we walked a small portion of the cape to cape trail, tasting the local honey at an aboriginal site all guided by a local guide with a great personality and sense of humour. The meeting place was behind the information centre, which is also walking distance from this accommodation.
We also did a driving tour through the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park down to Augusta, stopping at the beautiful Jewel Cave along the way. A trip out to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and enjoyed fish and chips along the river.
We booked a degustation lunch at Leeuwin Estates, which was the highlight of our day on New Year's Eve.
Unfortunately our stay was shortened by two days due to a death in the family, but I would not hesitate to go back and stay again. Property manager was lovely to work with and very prompt with replies.
