It was just a room to drop our bags and sleep, and it literally was JUST that. One of the strangest room configurations I have ever experienced. It was a twin share room in a converted attic space, two single beds each in their own confined spaces and each with a door opening out to the wrap-around deck. The bedrooms connected by a small 'hall' with a shared bathroom making up the rest of the space. The Tvs were about the size of laptop computer screens. There was no shared space to sit or eat anything… Very strange and 'pokey'. While everything was very compact it was also spotlessly clean and fresh. I guess the idea is that you would sit on the deck to chat or eat together but it was far too cold in winter to do that. A friend's weekend was a little restricted by this odd room set up. The noise travels badly between rooms, and especially along the wooden deck. Be prepared to hear noisy walking and talking during the night if you have neighbours at the hotel next to you or above you. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great central location, with convenient access to the central strip of Margaret River

Room tip: Don't have any experience of other rooms but Bridge 6 and 7 were weirdly set up -not conducive to friends sharing a room together

A great welcome in reception set the scene well. We took rooms 1 and 2 on the ground floor with a shared bathroom joined to both. Really comfy and quiet rooms but only a very short distance from the centre of town. Love the central lounge for residents to use. If you want 'just another hotel' this is not for you but if you want something different that also has quality don't miss this off your list. No restaurant but a great Italian next door and a fantastic breakfast at the bakery a couple of hundred metres up the road. We will be back!

Room tip: All very different so make sure you check out before selecting. There is bound to be one that takes your particular fancy

I stayed in the Boatswain Quarters. Some things to note: the good:

Location was excellent, a short walk to town and grocery stores.

Hot water came on very quickly and the shower was nice.

Bed was comfortable.

Front desk woman was very nice.

Not so good:

It's pricey for what you get in the room: the couch is right next to the bed so you don't get a proper lounge room to sit and watch tv, the tv is tiny and the front glass doors see straight into the neighbours verandah/they can see you. The room is quite quirky.

You can hear your neighbours walking around on the floorboards/doing their dishes/dropping cutlery.

We couldn't find the accommodation at first as the main photo Admiral Stirling Inn goes by is down an alleyway and Reception is located across the road.

WiFi is free however I found the signal too weak to access it from the room.

I don't know what the roof was made of but any slight wind outside blowing leaves along the roof made an awful loud noise a lot of the night.

I stayed at Admiral Stirling Inn which has an old style feel from the outside but is fine inside. Lovely basic accommodation, comfortable room, ample facilities, friendly staff, great location. It's located at one end of the Margaret River town centre and is close by to the Margaret River Tourist Information Centre, petrol station, Swings and Taphouse, an art gallery, and the Margaret River Bakery. The Margaret River town centre can easily be walked, Admiral Stirling Inn is at one end.

Well located, about 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants and bars in town. My wife and I enjoy cooking, so we made good use of fully equipped communal kitchen and BBQ area. Rooms are very clean with AC, beds comfortable, rooms equipped with bar fride and complimentary coffee/tea, bottled water. WiFi works fine. TV may be too small for some. Staff are friendly and helpful and contribute much to creating a laid back atmosphere. Rooms are quiet and spread out over the property - each room is unique.

Room tip: Each room is different, some ensuite and yet others with complete kitchen suitable for a family. Enquire before reserving to make sure that you get the accomodation that best meets your needs.
