Not as good as last time we went.

Food is still decent (despite my lamb being slightly over), but took a loooong time to arrive. About a 45 min wait between courses. I'm willing to put it down to a busy afternoon.

The view and grounds were immaculate as always.

We had a long lunch at Watershed just before new year, and were pleased we could be accommodated at short notice. The food and wine were great — solid south west WA fare with Japanese influences. However the service was pretty sub par. The wait staff forgot our orders, couldn’t give us basic information about the contents of certain dishes or even what particular ingredients were that were named on the menu. They forgot to bring us wine lists when we asked for them and we went thirsty for much of the meal. We appreciate this is a busy time of year but if you are paying premium prices you should be able to expect premium (or even adequate) service. We would ask management to consider how they train, induct or support their staff before we came here again.

We hired bikes from Margaret River and took the old railway line trail south. We're not the fittest, and found ourselves exhausted at just about the point that the winery was signposted....bingo, we detoured to the winery for lunch. Very busy Saturday lunchtime, but they found us a spot outside and whipped up a great sharing platter of charcuterie, cheeses, olives and bread with 2 glasses of wine. Hit the spot!

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch with a view here. Beautifully plated dishes. We are vegetarian and were not disappointed. Appetizer and sides were very good. The main course was a bit bland, needed a little more seasoning but for some reason we were unable to catch the server's eye(?!) to request for salt.
The dessert of peaches with mascarpone was good.
