“Sunday Sharing Spoils”
Reviewed 17 May 2015 via mobile

This came up on Urban Lists weekend to-do list and with a foodie friend coming to Melbourne from Sydney, what better way to showcase Melbourne's cuisine.
$65 pp for a 4 course sharing menu with a focus on pork from McIvor Farm.
Aside from a few small changes (the beet and trout entree was overly salty and not sure the beets and trout are a lasting marriage) and by contrast salt was not on the table (and when requested it was rather pedestrian grinders not a lovely dish of Murray river salt flakes) as the mushrooms could have been a little better seasoned, the meal was beautifully balanced and perfectly portioned.
The pork with crackling was the star as intended and the dessert was sweet but not sickly. Great wine menu with some goregous surprise finds.
Will definitely be back as this was just the thing for an Autumn's sunny Sunday.

“Disappointed with Circa”
Reviewed 14 May 2015

Went to this restaurant several years ago and it was fantastic, so requested to return for a special occasion. Very disappointing.
The food was still very nice but the renovations since our last visit make for a much noisier ,less fine dining experience. The beautiful ambience is lost. Our sommelier was great but can't say same about our waitress who was rather terse and less congenial.
