Great Accommodation

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Jan 2018
Very pleased with the decor, cleanliness and amenities. Great owners and value.
Close to everything with a bakery/cafe right across. Sister in law stayed here as well and we were both very pleased. Came with kids. Spacious as well.

We stayed one night here and it was great for what we needed. Good location for shops, restaurants and bars and the accommodation was good too. Great for self catering. The German guy who checked us in was great and very informative on what to see not only in Sale but also on our route to Sydney. He also gave us a costal guide which became our guide for the rest of our journey into New South Wales. He also recommended restaurants and bars.

The only think that needed improving was the bathroom. I wasn’t keen on the wooden slats on the bottom of the shower which overflowed. It felt like I was on a sinking ship. Otherwise it was great.

We made an online booking using Booking.com. Megjo's review is spot on for description of the property. We arrived exactly when we said we would but our room had been given to other guests. Being a family of 5, we search for appropriate accommodation and chose carefully. We were offered a replacement room that accommodated the 5 of us, all in one room, we don't understand why the other family were not offered that room or the larger penthouse which was available. The revamped rooms seem clean and well appointed at first, but on closer inspection you can see where money has been saved (eg. the bathrooms and the kitchen). The cleaning of the room was not at even a 3 star standard. The bed sheets had not been changed as a large wad of someone else hair was at the foot of the main bed, in between the sheets, and other 'hairs' clearly visible on the white sheets. The coffee pods offered as complimentary were pierced, meaning they had already been used. The manager was very apologetic and went to great pains to rectify the coffee pods, and they worked with booking.com to refund our cancellation as their policy with booking.com is to pay the entire fee, as we took another room with a price difference. We can say that the service provided by the manager was good. Apparently it was the owner who gave our room away so perhaps they need to rethink their business model if this is standard service from them. The reason we have given them a 3 point rating and not lower is that the personal service from the manager and attempt to update the motel is evident. Unfortunately we will not be booking this property in the future.

    Hi,
I stayed a few days in room 13 which was fairly quiet and the bed was comfortable and the room well equipped. The room had a kitchen - oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher etc and also washing machine and drier. The hotel is easy walking distance to town, the only downside is that some rooms may be noisy - but call and ask Tom as he gives a realistic opinion to help in your decisions.. The room was clean and tidy and Tom was very helpful in sorting things out. It is a small family business and they offer good service!

Room tip: Quiet rooms are away from the highway - call and ask if that is an issue for you.

The service was excellent from booking to arrival. Willy was very helpful and welcoming. The interconnecting room was perfect for a big family. We also had a studio which was modern and chic. I like the decor that give you an expected delight when you walk in. We enjoyed Netflix and it has all the amenities you are looking for. A fantastic stay in Sale.

Some money has been poured in to a typical 1950's motel to make it contemporary, but not a lot of money. Timber slats have been placed in the bottom of the shower in lieu of re-tiling. When water hits the timber there is an overwhelming smell of ammonia. I worry about hygiene with this system. The walls have been lined with roofing iron as a 'decorator' touch. Rooms aren't serviced daily - they come in and pull up the doona, empty the bin and hang your towel back up.
BUT it's cheap and pretty clean and they offer Netflix.
Oh and a warning: the beds are on wheels and the floor is laminate wood so don't just flop down on the bed cause it moves really easily.
